UPDATE 1:
Israeli 'thugs' board Gaza-bound aid ship Handala in international waters | Middle East Eye
Israeli troops stormed the Gaza-bound Handala vessel in international waters on Saturday, halting its attempt to deliver aid to Palestinians in the besieged enclave.
The raid was broadcast live by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, showing soldiers confronting unarmed passengers as they sat on deck with their hands raised, singing the anti-fascist anthem "Bella Ciao".
The Handala, carrying 19 activists, including European MPs and two Al Jazeera journalists, was intercepted roughly 100 kilometres west of Gaza, and around 50 kilometres off Egypt's coast. Activists say the boat was carrying humanitarian supplies and attempting to break Israel's maritime blockade of Gaza.
"There is no threat from our side," one crew member said during the broadcast, which was cut shortly after troops boarded the ship.
A video released by the flotilla captured an exchange between Israeli forces and Palestinian-American human rights lawyer Huwaida Arraf. "This is a civilian vessel," she said. "In international law, any blockade that deliberately starves a civilian population is a violation of international law."
Carrying photos of starving kids, thousands rally in Tel Aviv, Haifa to demand end to Gaza war
Thousands have staged a protest in Tel Aviv against Israel's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, carrying photos of starving Palestinian children.
The protesters gathered in Tel Aviv's Habima Square and adjacent streets on Thursday, demanding an "end to the war and return" of Israeli captives held in Gaza.
Some of them carried signs which denounced Israel for war crimes and genocide in Gaza and urged soldiers to refuse to take part in the war.
Others were seen holding up photos of starving Palestinian children, with one sign saying, "Oppose crimes against humanity."
Hamas claim attack on Israeli military vehicles in Gaza | Middle East Eye
Hamas say they struck two Israeli armoured personnel carriers with explosive devices, setting both vehicles ablaze.
In a statement on Telegram, Hamas's armed wing added that it also launched a missile at a third military vehicle in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza.
"Our fighters observed a military excavator burying the vehicles to extinguish the fires, and a helicopter landing to evacuate," the group said.

"In my entire career, never have I witnessed the level of brutality and use of indiscriminate and unnecessary force against an unarmed, starving, civilian population."
The Israeli Regime Continues To Deliberately Impose Starvation On The People Of Gaza (21+)South Front
Since March 2, the Israeli regime has suspended all aid to the Gaza Strip, and while a limited amount of assistance has trickled in since late May, access to humanitarian aid remains severely constrained. Malnutrition and disease are rampant, putting tens of thousands of children in jeopardy of starvation and dehydration.
Authorities in Gaza have raised an urgent call regarding the ongoing Israeli aid blockade, which has critically depleted essential supplies like baby milk. This alarming situation places over 100,000 children under the age of two-among them 40,000 infants-in jeopardy of life-threatening conditions within a matter of days.
In addition to these deliberate famines, the Israeli regime also attacks individuals seeking food. There are several documented instances where the Israeli regime has shot civilian gatherings in search of nourishment.
For example, on July 19, over 30 people were killed near Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) distribution centers east of Khan Younis after Israeli forces opened fire on crowds of Palestinians waiting for aid. In another incident, on July 12, at least 59 Palestinians were killed when the Israeli military fired near an aid distribution center in southern Gaza.

Saturday Gaza: Israel to allow food to be airdropped into Gaza. Then quietly returned to massacring people approaching food distribution points. - The Occidental Observer
In the face of surging anger about their policy of starving the Gaza population, the Israelis made 2 moves overnight. They loudly announced their willingness to allow food to be airdropped into Gaza. And they quietly returned to massacring people approaching food distribution points.
Israeli officers say Hamas didn't steal UN aid, contradicting blockade claim | Middle East Eye
Two senior Israeli army officers have told The New York Times there is no evidence that Hamas looted UN humanitarian aid in Gaza, undermining a central Israeli justification for severely restricting food deliveries to over two million people and driving the population towards famine.
Police station stormed in Egypt as outrage over Gaza blockade reaches boiling point | Middle East Eye
On the night of 25 July 2025, a group of young Egyptians launched a bold attack that shook Egypt's political order.
Calling themselves "Iron 17," they stormed the State Security headquarters at the Ma'asara police station in Helwan, detaining several security personnel for hours in an unprecedented act, the first of its kind since Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's rise to power in 2013 as president.
More than just an attack on a government building, the raid, captured in viral videos, exposed mounting public fury that could threaten Sisi's grip on power. Much of this anger stems from Egypt's role in the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the closure of the Rafah crossing.
Since Israel seized the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing in May 2024, Gaza's humanitarian crisis has worsened, with dozens, mainly children, dying of starvation according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The Egyptian regime, denying responsibility for the closure, faces accusations of failing to pressure for its reopening. This stance has fuelled public outrage, with many seeing it as capitulation to Israeli and US pressures at the expense of the Palestinian cause.

- The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported at least 57 people killed in the past day, with 512 wounded.
- The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, has criticised the use of airdropped aid in Gaza, warning it risks killing civilians seeking relief.
- Israeli troops stormed the Gaza-bound Handala vessel in international waters on Saturday, halting its attempt to deliver aid to Palestinians in the besieged enclave.
- Two senior Israeli army officers have told The New York Times there is no evidence that Hamas looted UN humanitarian aid in Gaza, directly contradicting a key justification used by the Israeli government to block food deliveries for months to more than two million people.
- Israel's close regional ally, the United Arab Emirates says it will resume airdropping aid into Gaza "immediately" as the humanitarian situation deteriorates further due to the ongoing Israel blockade.
- The Israeli military claims that it will reopen "humanitarian corridors" for UN convoys in Gaza and restart aid airdrops, measures aimed at easing a crisis largely caused by its own blockade of the besieged enclave.

Is This How Roger Waters' Story Ends - Behind Bars? "May Face 14 Years in Prison"
Roger Waters, co-founder of the legendary rock band Pink Floyd, is facing growing calls for criminal prosecution after publicly supporting Palestine Action, a protest group recently designated a terrorist organization by the UK government.
In a video posted earlier this month, Waters described the group as "nonviolent" and "a great organization" composed of people who are "absolutely not terrorists in any way." He also criticized the UK Parliament, claiming it had been "corrupted by agents of a genocidal foreign power."
The Campaign Against Antisemitism, a UK-based advocacy group, issued a statement urging authorities to take action against Waters under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000, which prohibits expressions of support for proscribed organizations.
The group stated it would pursue a private prosecution if law enforcement fails to act.
'I witnessed war crimes': Retired US soldier exposes Israeli brutality at Gaza aid sites
A former US Special Forces officer has revealed that he resigned from his position at the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) after witnessing Israeli forces firing upon Palestinian civilians at aid distribution centers.
Lieutenant-Colonel Anthony Aguilar, who worked for the GHF in May and June 2025, told the BBC on Friday that in his entire career, he had never witnessed such a level of "brutality and use of indiscriminate and unnecessary force against a civilian population, an unarmed, starving population."
He said he saw the Israeli regime forces and US contractors using live ammunition, artillery, mortar rounds, and tank fire on civilians and hungry people waiting for food at the aid distribution sites.
"I witnessed the forces firing a main gun tank round from the Merkava tank into a crowd of people, destroying a car of civilians that were simply driving away from the site. I witnessed mortar rounds being fired at the crowds of people to keep them controlled," Aguilar said.

Unrwa chief warns airdropping aid into Gaza can endanger civilians | Middle East Eye
The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, has criticised the use of airdropped aid in Gaza, warning it risks killing civilians seeking relief.
"Airdrops will not reverse the deepening starvation. They are expensive, inefficient & can even kill starving civilians. It is a distraction & screensmoke," he wrote in a post on X.
Lazzarini called for an end to the siege on Gaza to allow UN aid to reach Palestinians by land.
"At UNRWA, we have the equivalent of 6,000 trucks in Jordan & Egypt waiting for the green light to get into Gaza. Driving aid through is much easier, more effective, faster, cheaper & safer. It's more dignified for the people of #Gaza," he added.

Gaza aid ship braces for Israels assault at sea as drones hover overhead
Crew members aboard an international aid ship carrying life-saving supplies for children in Gaza are preparing for the possibility of an Israeli military intervention as they approach the Palestinian territory.
The Handala vessel, operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), set sail from the port of Gallipoli, Italy, on July 20 and is currently in international waters off the coast of Egypt, en route to Gaza, according to the organizers.
The coalition reported on Saturday that Israeli drones have been observed hovering above the Handala. In a statement posted on Telegram, the FFC indicated that at least 16 drones were detected, with some circling the vessel.
French National Assembly member Gabrielle Cathala, who is on board, shared on social media that the crew is "prepared for any potential intervention that may occur in the coming hours or tomorrow morning."
Israel will wipe Palestine off the map - but will it stop there? - RT World News
Following the declaration against Palestinian statehood and the assertion of the West Bank's "principled" belonging to the Jewish people, came another step deepening the course toward the de facto annexation of occupied territories. On July 23, 2025, the Knesset passed a new, even more radical, resolution. The document explicitly proclaims the intention to extend Israeli sovereignty over the entire territory of the West Bank and to initiate the legal integration of this land into Israel's administrative and legal system.
The resolution received the support of 71 lawmakers, with 13 voting against - reflecting the continued rightward shift of the Israeli parliament and its consolidation around the idea of "Greater Israel." The text states that "in the face of global antisemitism, military threats, and constant terror, Judea and Samaria cannot remain under temporary status," and that "historical justice and security demand the official recognition of these territories as part of sovereign Israel." The resolution was spearheaded by the same forces behind previous ones - members of Likud, the Religious Zionist Party, and Otzma Yehudit.
11-Year-Old Lama Aspired to Become a Journalist - Then an Israeli Strike in Gaza Killed Her - Palestine Chronicle
In the ruins of Gaza, an 11-year-old girl dreamed of becoming a journalist.
She was intelligent, confident, and determined, filming videos from within Gaza's shelters, practicing her English, speaking directly to the camera with a calm demeanor well beyond her years.
She wanted to be the voice of her generation, especially of the children growing up beneath drones and warplanes. One day, she, too, became a victim of the genocide she was documenting.
On July 15, an Israeli air strike flattened the six-story building where Lama Nasser Al-Badrasawi and her family had taken shelter after being displaced multiple times. Lama was killed along with her mother, father, and four siblings - Salma, Nada, Sham, and Aziz.
Lama is among an estimated 17,000 children killed in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023, as per data provided by the Palestinian Education Ministry till April this year.

Ray McGovern: Europe's Irrationality and the Return of War
12bytes: McGovern is a deep thinker and former CIA analyst. In this interview he briefly goes through the Russia-Ukraine war timeline, stating the reason why Russia invaded Ukraine which a lot of people don't understand and which the mainstream media avoids. Basically it goes like this:
- The cross-dressing Zelenskyy comedian is installed as a puppet of the West;
- The U.S., a NATO member, brakes its agreement with Russia by arming Ukraine, much of the buildup having occurred during Trump's first term, so when he says "this isn't my war", he is lying;
- After the NATO buildup, Ukraine ramped up its slaughter of Russian speaking Ukrainians in the Donbas and elsewhere;
- Russia invades Ukraine, but in a way that no one expected - instead of launching a full-blown war that could have destroyed Ukraine in a matter of weeks, with the caveat of sustaining a very large number of casualties, Russia instead initiates a slow, methodical Military Special Operation in order to reduce casualties to both its military and Ukrainian civilians - Russia seeks a political outcome;
- In 2022, Zelenskyy capitulates, agreeing to a ceasefire which would have ended the war and ended Russia's advancement, clearly demonstrating that Russia has no intention to capture all of Ukraine, much less expand the war beyond Ukraine;
- The U.S. steps in and scraps the ceasefire deal, thus prolonging a terribly bloody war that Ukraine never had a hope of winning, even with the help of the U.S. and the EU.
- To date, it is estimated that Russia has lost roughly 150,000 KiA to Ukraine's 1.5 million, a kill ration of approx. 10:1.
Ray McGovern discusses Europe abandonment of reason, diplomacy and peace as the continent struggles with remaining relevant in a multipolar world. How did Germany replace the US as Russia's most despised adversary? McGovern was a CIA intelligence analyst for 27 years, chaired the National Intelligence Estimates and participated in preparing the President's Daily Brief. He received the Intelligence Commendation Medal at his retirement, returning it in 2006 to protest the CIA's involvement in torture.
Letter to my daughter, mother of my grandchildren - Global South
This is a personal letter that will actually be sent, and I am sharing it here so that other parents can also send it to their children. You can adapt the letter as you wish or write a new letter from your heart.
Dear daughter,
We have often discussed the current situation and everything that is going wrong in our country and in the world. I am pessimistic about the future and feel compelled to warn you, your husband, and your children once again. War is coming, and I believe we must resist the warmongering of our so-called leaders. Above all, I want to prevent my children and grandchildren from dying in yet another senseless war.
Our leaders have already waged so many senseless wars. Wars that were unnecessary and, in hindsight, turned out to have been started on the basis of lies. The Vietnam War was justified on the basis of an incident that never happened. There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Yugoslavia and Libya were attacked by exaggerating domestic unrest. The US and NATO are responsible for many thousands of innocent deaths.
When we look at conflicts around the world today, we see the same patterns repeating themselves. The US and NATO are belligerent and are using Ukraine against Russia, Taiwan against China, and Israel against Iran. The reason is that Russia, China, and Iran stand in the way of world domination. Anyone who stands in the way must be eliminated. That is how primitive man operates-in the past and present, on a small and large scale.
The problem is that most people do not see these patterns. People are not very interested in history and quickly forget the nonsense and lies. Strangely enough, leaders and organizations that lie time and time again are still believed. There are always new lies that find their way into gullible ears. Unfortunately, lying has been elevated to an art form, and the US and NATO have professionalized propaganda.
Yet I continue to be amazed at the willingness of politicians, journalists, and influential public figures to go along with the narrative they are presented with. As if they really believe that Russia will invade Europe. As if they do not see that the US is stirring up Taiwan against China. As if they find it normal for the US to bomb Iran without any evidence of a nuclear program. It is abundantly clear which party is being aggressive.
In our country, the defense department wants to buy old trains to use as mobile hospitals. You only come up with such an idiotic plan if you intend to go to war. The media talks about it as if it were normal. The war train is already running and gaining speed, and I fear it cannot be stopped. Too many people are talking about it, and there are no journalists or presenters putting the brakes on. We are like frogs in a pan on low heat, heading toward boiling point.
I think you feel exactly the same way I do, but perhaps you hope that it will not come to that. Once the flame hits the pan, it will be too late to prepare, which is why I urge you to prepare now for what is inevitably coming. You do not need to prepare for a nuclear bomb, because if one falls, it will not matter what you have prepared. Even a bomb shelter with five years' worth of food will not be a life worth living.
My concerns are for those who are being sent to war and will serve as cannon fodder. Look at all those Ukrainian boys and men who are being sacrificed for a war that is not theirs. Look at all those women and children in Gaza who are being killed with weapons from the US and NATO. When war breaks out, they will throw everyone under the bus. The question is what the people themselves want: to fight or to refuse.
Of course, I can't decide what you and the children should do. I would refuse myself, even if they put me in front of a firing squad for it. The fact is that I have completely lost faith in our leaders. I fear that even this simple letter could be grounds for our increasingly tyrannical government to imprison me. I would entrust my life to Putin, but never to Trump or Rutte.
I don't mean to scare you, but I can't remain silent either. We'd better prepare ourselves properly instead of just hoping that primitive people will suddenly become conscious and sensible. Think about what you yourself want and can do. Think about conversations with your children and what you want to say to them. Make them aware and teach them the facts. Teach them to think for themselves, to be critical, and to make their own choices. Every conversation can be meaningful.
I can't make it sound better than it is, but unfortunately I am pessimistic. Because so few people see what I see. In hindsight, everything will become clear again, but once again we will not be able to justify thousands of innocent deaths. I would like to shout it out loud, but few will (be able to) listen and see through the lies like I do. The leaders are following their own plan, the media is selling it, and the frogs are waiting until they are handed a weapon.
I don't know when all hell will break loose, but I feel that the war will gain momentum between 2026 and 2029. People will see the signs more and more clearly, and perhaps the masses will wake up in time to put the brakes on. But in the meantime, all we can do is raise awareness and enjoy the days that are still somewhat peaceful. Worrying all the time is unhealthy, so make sure you do fun things too.
I am proud of you. You are busy with your family, your work, your social life, and your own development. You are a good mother to your children. You are not responsible for war, nor for the choices your children make, but I hope with all my heart that none of you will choose to kill the children of Russian, Chinese, or Iranian parents on behalf of the US and NATO. There is nothing to defend, because we are not being attacked.
It is the other way around. The US and NATO are constantly attacking countries, forcing those other countries to defend themselves. When will the masses finally realize this? When will our eyes be opened and we stop giving power to leaders who have plans for war? Leaders who blindly follow the US and NATO with their plans. My repetitions show how enormous my surprise and disbelief are.
Let me conclude by saying that I love you. That I love your family. That I hope my fears will not come true and that we will skirt the right side of the precipice. Perhaps we should trust with all our hearts that things will turn out well, so that we will attract good things. Let us prepare ourselves, but also spend our days in a pleasant and meaningful way. Let us have good conversations together, because we have each other.
Love, Dad.
