Trump begs world for help, world says no, offers truce to Iran; 'defeated' Iran kicks ass, takes names; mutiny on USS Ford?; economies crumble, EU turns to Russia for LNG, oil - IRAN WAR NEWS - 17-Mar-2026 (update 3)

"Netanyahu finally found someone stupid enough to do it." -- Max Blumenthal, referring to Trump and the US war on Iran

12bytes: In the purist spirit of 'FAFO' (fuck around, find out) Trump has started a religious war at the direction of his Zionist masters that he has been losing badly since he bombed a school full of young girls on day 1, exactly as intended. Any hope Trump had of achieving his goals in the Middle East are rapidly evaporating. US bases in the region are largely destroyed leaving their hosts and Israel blind to incoming munitions. The damage to Israel is immense and the situation worsens by the hour. Trump is seeking an exit ramp, however his back is against the Wailing Wall and 'plan B' is something they're making up as they go. Worse still, It is a near certainty that even if the US pulled out, the Iranian attack on Israel would continue until the Zionist scum have paid a price that Iran deems sufficient. Meanwhile, Iran controls shipping in the Hormuz Strait and thus has its enemies by their proverbial balls until its demands are met, including a total US withdrawal from the region and the elimination of sanctions. What will the end look like? Will the US and/or Israel deploy nuclear weapons? Russia and China are unlikely to allow Iran to fall.

12bytes: Rather than repeating myself for these stories regarding Iranian attacks on their enemies in general, and particularly those upon the US bases in the Gulf region, i'll say it here: These bases (Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, Dubai, Oman, etc.) constantly report that incoming Iranian missiles and drones are being intercepted, or fell out of the sky, or missed their target, or caused only superficial damage, or that the attacks achieved only a symbolic victory, etc.. These are lies. These bases have been, or are being completely destroyed and Iran has largely depleted US air defenses making subsequent attacks even more effective. This is the case for Israel also. No one can stop Iran's hypersonic or multi-warhead missiles and they are beginning to use these weapons in greater numbers. Lastly, it is strictly forbidden for people in Israel or the US base states to report on the damage inflicted by Iran. Many people have been arrested. Now you know why we're not getting a lot of visuals regarding damage in Israel or the Gulf states.

UPDATE 3

12bytes: This update is dedicated to commentary from the Frum Report's YouTube channel which is only 10 days old. Never knew about this resource until today and it seems to be an incredibly valuable one. At first i though the Frum Report was created by David Frum from The Atlantic, however his podcast is titled The David Frum Show and the guy in these videos doesn't look anything like him. Is this AI? He can sure talk a long time without making a single mistake. I dunno. The information is excellent, but i'm remaining vigilant.

David Frum is a staff writer at The Atlantic and the host of the weekly podcast The David Frum Show. He is the author of 10 books, most recently Trumpocracy (2018) and Trumpocalypse (2020). In 2001 and 2002, David was a speechwriter for President George W. Bush. From 2014 to 2017, he chaired the prominent U.K. center-right think tank, Policy Exchange. He writes for The Atlantic on topics including politics, policy, art, literature, and history.

I watched a couple of their videos to make sure their comments jive with reality and they seem to be 100% spot-on. I'm highly impressed. A couple of these videos are 2-3 days old but still worth watching.

Super important video from the Frum Report: Trump sends Marines. Iran sends a welcome message - YouTube

White House authorized the deployment of a US Marine expeditionary unit to the Middle East. The Wall Street Journal confirmed it through a Pentagon official. It is not a training exercise. It is not a show of force. It is twenty-five hundred combat-ready infantry with organic artillery, armored support, and air assets - the specific type of unit whose institutional function is to arrive first, secure an entry point under fire, and prepare conditions for everything that follows.

Iran's military response to the announcement was immediate. The ground forces are welcome.

At FRUM REPORT we examine what this deployment actually means operationally - against the specific conditions that sixteen days of this conflict have produced - and why the historical pattern it follows has never produced the limited outcome its initial framing suggested.

Israel's war cabinet met without its Prime Minister. Nobody said why. - YouTube

Benjamin Netanyahu was formally declared absent from an emergency security cabinet session convened specifically to coordinate Israel's response to the most intensive Iranian strikes of this conflict. Defense Minister Katz chaired the meeting in his place. No official explanation was provided. The Times of Israel confirmed it. And forty-eight hours later, the questions have not been answered - they have multiplied.

Iran shut down Israel's only international airport in under two minutes - YouTube

At 2:47 in the morning on March 14th, twelve Iranian ballistic missiles struck Ben Gurion International Airport. Four hit the main runway. Three hit the aircraft parking areas. Two ignited the fuel storage tanks. Two collapsed Terminal 3. One hit the air traffic control tower. Eighty-nine people were killed. Two hundred and thirty-four were wounded. Seventy-three aircraft were destroyed. And Israel's only international airport - the sole facility in the country capable of handling wide-body international flights - is now closed with no reopening date confirmed.

Iran hit Israel for three straight hours. Officials said the threat was 90% gone. - YouTube

While major broadcasts were still reporting that Iranian offensive capacity had been degraded by nearly ninety percent, the sky over central Israel was illuminated for three consecutive hours by the most technically complex bombardment of this entire conflict. The gap between those two descriptions is not a communications lag. It is a strategic chasm - and understanding it reveals where this war is actually heading.

Six Americans dead, a French base struck, and Washington says it's going great - YouTube

Six Americans are dead. A KC-135 refueling tanker went down over western Iraq tonight. A French military installation in northern Iraq was struck by drones, wounding at least six soldiers. The Abraham Lincoln carrier group has withdrawn from its forward position. Three F-15s have been lost in two weeks - more than in the previous fifty years of the aircraft's operational history combined. Nineteen additional American personnel were evacuated to Germany today. And the official characterization of this conflict remains that everything is going very well.

The 3 conditions that make this war impossible to end - YouTube

Four days of total silence. No video. No speech. No public appearance. Then on March 12th, Iran's new Supreme Leader finally communicated - through a written statement read by a state television anchor, because the man himself has still not appeared on camera.

TEHRAN, March 17 (YPA) - Iranian state television announced on Tuesday that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a new phase of Operation True Promise 4, targeting US and Israeli forces and military units.

The television report stated that the IRGC used multiple-warhead missiles powered by both solid and liquid fuel, as well as drones.

Sirens sounded in central Israeli cities on Tuesday afternoon after missiles were detected coming from Iran.

Israeli media acknowledged that debris from the Iranian missiles fell on a wide area of Tel Aviv, causing smoke to rise from the impact sites and damaging homes and vehicles.

Channel 14 reported that due to concerns about falling debris, the central train station in Holon, east of Tel Aviv, was closed.

By wresting control of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran has turned the tables on US | Middle East Eye

Now, those vessels are snaking through the Strait of Hormuz while their western-affiliated counterparts are locked out of the key chokepoint.

Boots In The Gulf: Why Ground Troops Are America's Only Option LeftSouth Front

The United States has reached a strategic deadlock in its war with Iran. Weeks of airstrikes and precision attacks on leadership and infrastructure have failed to produce a decisive result. Even after the reported death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Iran's command system continues to function. Military infrastructure, especially underground, remains partially intact.

The limits of air power are becoming increasingly clear. Iran has spent years building hardened facilities, including bunkers, storage depots, and hidden launch sites. Many of them are beyond the reach of standard munitions. Even specialized bunker-busting bombs are available only in limited numbers.

JEWS DUPED TRUMP TO TAKE THE FALL

12bytes: Love him or hate him, Harry Vox is not a dummy.

You can see all the Jew Neo Con rats on the Jew TV "news" shows pinning the blame for this colossal FAIL on TRUMP. Ha ha ha. And Trump is so weak and pathetic that he is willingly going to take the fall for the Jews. They got the goods on him no question about that. Because if there is one thing that Trump would never do would be to take the fall and look like the biggest dupe ever - for anyone. But watch, he's gonna take the fall. And he's so stupid that he is completely unaware that the Jews did a secret deal with China to trick trump into the war SPECIFICALLY TO DEPLETE US INTERCEPTOR MISSILES. That's what this war is about. That and to keep Netanyahu protected from those pesky Jew prosecutors and judges who were about to imprison him for multiple crimes. None of this was told to Trump, they don't need to, Trump is up to his ears in the Epstein Child Sexual Blackmail network and he has also quite clearly demonstrated that he is willing to ruin his reputation to protect CLUB PED. So his reputation is completely toast and this point and there is no return.

UPDATE 1

12bytes: Just a random thought: There's been talk about a false-flag terrorist event coming in the US to be blamed on Iran. From an American perspective, what's the most significant event the US caused in Iran? I think it's the bombing of the girls' school. What would happen if one or more children's schools were bombed or shot-up in the US? Would Trump then regain his rapidly dwindling support for the war? The counter to this is that the US can't win this war so why bother with a false-flag, but such an attack would likely be an Israeli production and i wouldn't put anything past those psychopathic clowns. Besides, from what i understand, the Israeli's want the US to be destroyed. It's a religious thing.

Iran has received a truce offer from the United States - Reuters

Iran has received an offer of a truce with the United States, but the country's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, refused to accept it, Reuters reported, citing a senior Iranian official.

According to the agency, the United States has submitted a truce proposal to Iran through two intermediaries.

At the first meeting on Mojtab's foreign policy, Khamenei demonstrated an uncompromising attitude and rejected the proposal. The position of the supreme leader of Iran towards the United States and Israel was "very tough and serious," the publication said.

Earlier, Mojtaba Khamenei declared Iran's determination to avenge the martyrs who died in the conflict with the United States and Israel.

US counterterror chief says in resignation letter Israel 'deceived' Trump into attacking Iran | Middle East Eye

A senior Trump administration official in the directorate of national intelligence has resigned over the war on Iran, saying that the US president was tricked into the conflict by an Israeli and pro-war "echo chamber".

"I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby," Joseph Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Centre, wrote in a resignation letter shared on Tuesday.

Is Netanyahu Already a Ghost Running Israel's War on Iran? - 21st Century Wire

On the morning of 28 February 2026, as a salvo of Iranian missiles began slamming into Tel Aviv, Benjamin Netanyahu seemed to vanish into a fog of war that felt less like leadership and more like stagecraft. Within days, Tehran's media were suggesting the Israeli prime minister had been killed or was gravely wounded, with outlets like Tasnim News Agency pushing the story, while Jerusalem briskly dismissed it all as "a lie."

Between these poles of information warfare, sits a stranger story of a loitering "flying fortress", Tel Aviv apartment blocks built atop buried command centres, Netanyahu's personal doctor doing hasbara on Romanian TV, and a coffee shop video so synthetic that even Elon Musk's Grok called it a deepfake.

Trump Asked the World for Help - They Said No - YouTube

The Strait of Hormuz crisis is quickly becoming more than just a regional conflict - it is reshaping global oil markets, trade routes, and the balance of power in the international system.

After escalating tensions with Iran, Donald Trump called on allies - including China - to help secure one of the world's most critical energy chokepoints. But the response has been far more cautious than expected.

With oil flows, global trade, and energy security at stake, this video explores why U.S. allies are hesitating, how China is approaching the crisis differently, and what this reveals about the future of global power.

Is this just a temporary disagreement - or a deeper shift in how the world responds to American leadership?

Why NATO Allies Won't Join the US' Hormuz Crusade

Germany, Spain, Italy, and France-along with non-NATO members Japan and South Korea-are hesitant to participate in the US-led maritime operation in the Strait of Hormuz "due to the uncertainty on the battlefield," says Hasan Selim Ozertem, a Turkish-based political analyst interviewed by Sputnik.

These countries "cannot be certain of the safety of their navy forces," Ozertem explains, noting that recent events have demonstrated that US vessels are vulnerable to Iranian missiles and "cannot be protected against sea mines in the Persian Gulf. In that regard, I think nobody wants to become part of this ongoing conflict," he says.

US pushes for Syria to send troops into Lebanon, Damascus hesitant: Report | Middle East Eye

According to the sources - two of whom are Syrian officials - the idea was first discussed by US and Syrian officials last year.

They said the proposal was raised again by US officials around the time of the launch of US-Israeli attacks on Iran. The two Syrian officials said the request arrived shortly before the attacks began, while a western intelligence source said it came shortly after the strikes started.

According to the report, which cites 10 sources including six Syrian officials and government advisers, Syria's government had been cautiously considering a cross-border operation but remained hesitant.

The Iran War Rages On: Israeli Assassination Strikes, Steve Witkoff's Texts, and the Mounting Storm in the Strait of Hormuz

On Tuesday, Israel announced that it assassinated Iran's top security official, Ali Larijani and the head of Irani's internal security force and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling on Iranians to begin preparing to overthrow the government in Tehran. President Donald Trump and his senior aides claim that Iran's ballistic missile and drone capacity has largely been decimated and that Iran is begging to negotiate an end to the war. Yet Iran continues to dominate access to the Strait of Hormuz and to launch strikes against both Israel and U.S. military outposts and bases across the Persian Gulf-and Iranian leaders say they will determine when the war ends.

Israel has 'won' war with Iran, Israeli foreign minister says  | Middle East Eye

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Tuesday the country had effectively won its war with Iran, but gave no indication of when the war might end.

Speaking at a news conference, Saar said Israel was seeking to remove "existential threats", but did not say how the government would determine when those goals had been met.

"One must be patient," he said, speaking on the 18th day of a war that has killed more than 2,000 civilians, most of them in Iran and Lebanon, but also in Israel, Iraq and across the Gulf.

Saar and other Israeli officials have said the aim is to significantly weaken Iran's ability to carry out attacks against Israel over the long term, while creating conditions inside Iran that could ultimately enable Iranians to overthrow their rulers.

Straight of Hormuz Closure Pushes Europe Toward Russia, Undermining Trump's Iran War

While it may have been able to take out Ayatollah Khamenei, the U.S.' plans for regime change in Iran are not going as smoothly as they expected. With the Strait of Hormuz closed, the global economy is facing meltdown, and Washington's allies are rapidly distancing themselves from the U.S. Meanwhile, facing an energy crisis, European leaders, openly refusing to participate in President Trump's war, are already discussing normalizing relations with Russia and ending their participation in the Ukraine War.

Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz appears to have caught the Americans off guard. Already, the prices of energy, metals, fertilizer, and other key goods is spiraling out of control, and any prolonged closure threatens to doom the world economy. Around one-fifth of the planet's entire oil and gas supply travels through the narrow sea passage between Iran and Arabia, making it one of the most important choke points in the world.

12bytes: There's something quite soothing about watching these morons in the EU squirm. In the end they will beg Russia for oil and gas if the strait remains closed much longer. Some of them already are.

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever has sparked a firestorm of criticism after calling on the EU to normalize relations with Moscow and restore access to cheap Russian energy, as the bloc grapples with soaring prices exacerbated by the US-Israeli war on Iran.

EU will 'inevitably beg for more Russian gas' - Putin envoy - RT Business News

Gas prices across the EU are set to rise by at least 100% more than previously forecast, Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev has said, as bloc officials continue to push member states to shun Russian energy.

Dmitriev's remarks come as the escalating Middle East crisis triggered by the unprovoked US-Israeli attack on Iran has sent global oil and gas prices soaring.

At the same time, the EU has continued to struggle with the consequences of its move to sever energy ties with Russia over the Ukraine conflict, as well as its controversial green energy policies.

"We forecast at least 100% higher [gas prices in the EU] than previously projected, as Europe takes time to inevitably beg for more Russian gas," Kremlin investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev said on Tuesday on X, commenting on projections by Bloomberg.

Pentagon And Anduril Sign $20 Billion Weapons Contract | South Front

With MIC warmongers and war criminals making hundreds of billions in profits, this massive machine of death and destruction has a near-constant motivation to continue waging its aggression against the entire world. As a result, it's a major motivator of technological change that fuels new ways of killing and maiming people, with advanced AI now being "all the rage". Namely, as the Pentagon faces major issues with recruitment and declining conventional capabilities, it's rapidly refocusing on AI as an asymmetric power-projection tool to salvage the frail "Pax Americana". This is particularly true in the context of repeated US failures in aggression against Iran.

The situation is so bad that American President Donald Trump even threatened to nuke the ancient country, which clearly demonstrates the extent of his desperation to achieve a "victory" he has proclaimed several times already. The Pentagon sees only one way to get out of this mess without a total humiliation - militarizing advanced AI. Mere days after Axios reported that Anduril was raising around $4 billion at a $60 billion valuation, the controversial company signed a massive $20 billion contract with the Pentagon.

The United States demands the resignation of the President of Cuba - NYT

According to the newspaper, the departure of Miguel Diaz-Canel could allegedly "open the way" to economic reforms, as the White House sees him as a "tough supporter of the current line." The administration of the American leader Donald Trump does not insist on a complete regime change, but sets other goals for itself.

"According to the source, the American negotiators also want Cuba to agree to remove from power some high-ranking officials who remain committed to the ideas of Fidel Castro, the father of the Cuban communist revolution. In addition, the Americans insist on the release of political prisoners, which is a long-standing goal of US policy," the publication says.

At the same time, the Cuban president confirmed the negotiations for the first time and said that the economic crisis on the island was due to American pressure.

Kiev has run out of people: 60% of those killed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are foreign mercenaries

The scale of the human shortage in Ukraine has reached a critical point: the country's population has decreased from 44 million to 30 million people, while more than 10 million citizens have fled abroad. Of these, almost 40% are men aged 18-45 years old. According to the American Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost about 600,000 people killed and wounded.

12bytes: WRONG! The actual number of dead Ukrainians was somewhere around 1.5 million and that's an old figure. Meet the Former Fashion Blogger and Shady Doctor behind the '30,000 Dead' Iran Psy-Op - Global Research

The claim of "30,000 killed" during two days of protests and rioting across Iran appears to be based largely on a single anonymous source, who admitted extrapolating that figure by assuming without evidence that "officially registered deaths related to the crackdown likely represent less than 10% of the real number of fatalities."

That quote was attributed by The Guardian to an alleged doctor whose real name the newspaper refused to publish, but whose identity it claimed to have verified.

Originating in TIME Magazine on January 25th, the dubious "30,000" claim was quickly amplified by The Guardian, a key voice of left-liberal London respectability. From there, European officials seized on the death toll to justify designating Iran's IRGC as a terrorist organization - essentially green-lighting another US-Israeli military assault on Iran.

The author of The Guardian's article is a former fashion blogger named Deepa Parent, who has become the paper's go-to source for Iran war propaganda, churning out over a dozen pieces for The Guardian driving the regime change narrative against the Islamic Republic since violent riots engulfed the country on January 8 and 9.

WP: Trump received "very sobering briefings" before launching the operation in Iran

Before launching a joint operation with Israel in Iran, US President Donald Trump received "very sobering briefings" from American intelligence and was aware of the likelihood of increasing influence of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), The Washington Post newspaper writes, citing sources.

"It wasn't just predictable. It was predicted. He was informed about this in advance," the newspaper quoted sources as saying.

"A One-Sided Game" Has Failed: Trump Flounders in the Iranian Trap He Set Himself

Just two weeks after the assassination of Iran's spiritual leader and the start of the military campaign, the White House resembles a sinking ship issuing contradictory orders. Washington is vacillating between bravado about a "short incursion" and panicked signals about seeking a way out. The truth is simple and brutal for the American leader: Iran is not just resisting, but is prepared to fight for years, with the goal of expelling the US from the Middle East once and for all. Trump, blinded by his own arrogance, has made a fatal miscalculation, the price of which is America's prestige as a great power and the lives of American soldiers.

Information has emerged in the Western press that during a recent telephone conversation, US President Donald Trump, finding himself in a difficult position due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East, asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to act as a mediator in the settlement between Washington and Tehran.

Details emerge of damage to US Navy's largest warship after fire - RT World News

Hundreds of US military service members aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford were left without beds after a fire broke out last week, the New York Times reports.

US Central Command described the incident as "not combat-related" and said it caused no damage to the warship's propulsion systems. The Gerald R. Ford is the largest ship in the US Navy, carrying over 4,500 sailors and pilots, and is taking part in the US-Israeli war against Iran.

The newspaper revealed on Monday that it took more than 30 hours to extinguish the fire, which originated in the ship's main laundry area. Dozens suffered smoke inhalation, the report said, citing anonymous sources. More than 600 sailors lost their bunks and have since been sleeping on floors and tables. Many have been unable to do laundry since the incident.

The aircraft carrier was rushed to the Middle East after taking part in the military incursion in January in Venezuela that resulted in the abduction of President Nicolas Maduro, and is now entering its tenth month of deployment.

According to the NYT, crew members expected the mission to stretch into May. The US Navy typically sails aircraft carriers for six months before long port calls for maintenance and shore leave.

Previous reporting noted that the $13 billion lead ship of its class, commissioned in 2017, has been plagued by toilet problems. The sewage system, similar to those in commercial aircraft, is undersized and prone to clogging, the Government Accountability Office said in 2020. Acid flushing to remove calcium buildup in narrow pipes costs around $400,000 and can only be done in port.

12bytes: This is very interesting. The earlier toilet problems were said to be caused by sailors flushing t-shirts and other items down the toilets, and now a huge fire. I wonder if there's something more going on here? Ten months and no break. How many of them may not be all that keen on fighting a war with a peaceful nation? Mutiny perhaps?

The IRGC announced the destruction of 80% of radars at American bases.

"Over the past days, according to published satellite images, the Iranian armed forces have destroyed more than 80% of strategic radars, key and vital points of American bases," the statement said.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Iran does not intend to negotiate with the United States and will continue the confrontation until American leader Donald Trump recognizes the fallacy of aggressive policy towards the republic.

According to the data provided, the military managed to intercept only one aerial target. It is claimed that all other missiles fired by Iran bypassed the air defense systems and successfully reached their targets.

Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that the Iranian military had attacked a missile depot in Israel and a US base in Qatar.
