World reacts to 'brutal' Israeli attacks on Lebanon amid US-Iran ceasefire | US-Israel war on Iran News | Al Jazeera

Israeli forces have launched an intense bombardment across Lebanon, killing hundreds of people, hours after a two-week ceasefire was announced in the United States-Iran war.

Lebanon's Civil Defence said at least 254 people were killed and 1,165 others were wounded in air strikes that targeted areas in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, Mount Lebanon, Sidon, and several villages in southern Lebanon.

[...]

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri called the attacks on densely populated areas a "full-fledged war crime."

"Today's crime, coinciding with the ceasefire agreement declared in the region - an agreement that Israel and its political and security apparatus have failed to uphold - is a serious test for the international community and a blatant challenge to all international laws, norms, and conventions, which Israel violates daily through its unprecedented campaign of human assassination in modern history," Berri said.

Al-Wahbi brigades commander: US forces suffer biggest military defeat since 'World War II' - Yemen Press Agency

SANAA, April 09 (YPA) - The commander of the Al-Wahbi Brigades, Major General Bakil Saleh Al-Wahbi, stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has achieved a significant military and strategic victory over the United States and Israel.

In remarks to Yemen Press Agency, Al-Wahbi said Iran had "taken the world by surprise" through developments in its ballistic and cluster missile systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, military strategy, and highly precise intelligence capabilities, which he said upended enemies' calculations.

He explained that Iran's intelligence capabilities had advanced to the point of tracking US personnel and accurately identifying their operations rooms, even in hotels and fortified locations they had retreated to.

He added that Washington's acceptance of Tehran's terms came only after "harsh and painful strikes," which he said were unlike anything US forces had experienced since World War II.

Iran Threatens Israel, Closes Hormuz Again Over Series Of Massacres In Lebanon

Iran has threatened Israel and closed the Strait of Hormuz after a series of violent strikes killed over a hundred in Lebanon.

The strikes came hours after a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States entered into effect early on April 8. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who brokered the agreement, said that "an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere" was agreed upon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office issued a statement welcoming the ceasefire at the time, but stressing that it does not cover Lebanon.

Later, U.S. President Donald Trump told PBS that Lebanon was not included in the two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran.

The violent Israeli strikes that targeted the capital, Beirut, the Beqaa Valley and southern Lebanon claimed the lives of over a hundred people.

The World on the Brink of the Stone Age: When Trump's Threat Goes Beyond Iran - Middle East Monitor

When Donald Trump declared in one of his threatening statements that he could, if necessary, "bring Iran back to the Stone Age," many interpreted the remark merely as a military threat directed at a specific country. Yet the deeper meaning of this statement lies not in its military message but in the political logic that underpins it. The central issue is not whether the United States has the capability to devastate another country; rather, it is what kind of view of the international order makes such a threat possible-or even appear normal.

'Stone Age' to 'Golden Age': How the final hours before the truce unfolded | US-Israel war on Iran News | Al Jazeera

Here are the key moments of the tense final hours leading up to this fragile ceasefire:

12:06 GMT, Tuesday - Trump's threat to Iran's civilisation

On Tuesday morning, Trump warned in a post on his social media platform Truth Social that Washington would unleash devastating strikes on Iranian bridges, power plants and other civilian infrastructure.

Trump even declared that "a whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again" - a phrase that legal and human rights experts said was akin to a "genocidal" threat.

"We have a plan, because of the power of our military, where every bridge in Iran will be decimated ... where every power plant in Iran will be out of business, burning, exploding, and never to be used again," he said.

15:21 GMT, Tuesday - US strikes hit Kharg Island

Iran's semiautonomous Mehr news agency confirmed reports that Kharg Island, where Iran's main oil exporting facilities are based, had been hit but added that there had been no damage to infrastructure and the situation was under control.

15:40 GMT, Tuesday - China, Russia Security Council veto on Strait of Hormuz

During a vote in the United Nations Security Council, China and Russia vetoed a Bahraini resolution encouraging states to coordinate efforts to protect commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Eleven countries on the 15-member council voted in favour of the resolution, two abstained and two voted against it - China and Russia, which, as permanent members, have veto power in the UN's highest decision-making body.

Moscow and Beijing argued the draft was one‑sided and unfair to Tehran. China's UN ambassador, Fu Cong, said moving ahead with the proposal while the US was issuing threats about the possible destruction of an entire civilisation would have conveyed the wrong signal.

16:54 GMT, Tuesday - Qatar and UAE send elevated alerts

Qatar's Ministry of Defence said it "successfully intercepted a missile attack" targeting the country.

This followed an "elevated" threat alert that was sent out and subsequent sounds of missile interception over the capital, Doha.

Nearly half an hour earlier, the United Arab Emirates also reported a barrage of missile and drone attacks on its territory.

18:23 GMT, Tuesday - Iran's envoy to Pakistan reports 'step forward' after 'sensitive stage'

Reza Amiri Moghadam said in a post on X that "as of now", there has been "a step forward from [a] critical, sensitive stage".

"In the next stage, respect and comity should replace rhetoric and redundancy. Stay more tuned," the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan added.

Moghadam earlier in the day had referred to Pakistan's "positive and productive endeavours" towards peace and said talks had entered a "critical" stage - the first official confirmation from Iran that it was engaged in formal negotiations with the US.

19:17 GMT, Tuesday - Pakistan's PM asks Trump to extend deadline

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appealed to Trump to push back his deadline for an Iran deal by two weeks and for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz during the same period, saying ongoing diplomatic efforts were promising and should be given a chance.

"Diplomatic efforts for [a] peaceful settlement of the ongoing war in the Middle East are progressing steadily, strongly and powerfully with the potential to lead to substantive results in [the] near future," Sharif wrote in a post on X. "To allow diplomacy to run its course, I earnestly request President Trump to extend the deadline for two weeks."

Sharif also called on Tehran to open the Strait of Hormuz for the same two weeks "as a goodwill gesture".

20:25 GMT, Tuesday - Iran threatens to block regional oil and gas

A spokesperson for the Iranian military's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, warned the country would target the energy infrastructure of the US and its Gulf allies in the region, Fars news agency reported.

The official said Iran would seek to deprive the region of oil and gas for years with the aim of forcing US forces and their partners to withdraw.

20:41 GMT, Tuesday - US and Israeli air strikes on energy plant in southwest Iran

The deputy security officer of Khuzestan province announced that the Amirkabir Petrochemical Plant in the port city of Mahshahr was struck in an air strike, Mehr reported, adding that local authorities were assessing the extent of the damage and potential casualties.

22:45 GMT, Tuesday - Trump announces temporary ceasefire

With less than an hour and a half to go to his deadline for the destruction of Iranian "civilisation", Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran after talks with Sharif and Pakistan's military chief, Asim Munir.

He said the ceasefire would be "double-sided" and Washington had received a "workable" 10-point proposal from Iran.

Twenty-five minutes later, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed Trump's announcement and added that Tehran would abide by the temporary truce if attacks on its territory were halted.

In a post on X, Sharif invited Iranian and US delegations to Islamabad on Friday "to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes".

04:01 GMT, Wednesday - Trump says ceasefire could lead to 'Golden Age' for Middle East

A week earlier, Trump had threatened to bomb Iran back to the "Stone Ages". Hours after he announced the two-week ceasefire with Iran, his tone had changed.

"A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they've had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!" he wrote on Truth Social. "Just like we are experiencing in the U.S., this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East!!!"

Forty days that shook the Empire: How Iran turned the tables on US and prevailed

After 40 days of the war that should never have happened in the first place, the aggressors have failed to achieve any of their stated objectives. Trump desperately looked for an off-ramp from the quagmire he helped create, and the world witnessed something unprecedented: the defeat of a superpower at the hands of a nation that refuses to bend.

[...]

Trump has long framed Iran's nuclear program as an existential danger. Before the Ramadan war, he threatened military action to dismantle it, even though, as many social media users pointed out, he had, after the 12-day war, claimed the program was already "obliterated."

Eventually, after 40 days of war and mindless rhetoric, the "regime change" fantasy also evaporated. His attempt to attack nuclear facilities in Isfahan failed spectacularly, as Americans lost a vast fleet of aircraft in the process, without achieving anything.

Trump was also fixated on the Strait of Hormuz, vowing to open it. Iran's navy had effectively closed the waterway to American and allied vessels following the launch of the unprovoked war. Any attempt to cross the Strait without Iran's consent was a recipe for disaster.

Trump issued several warnings: reopen the strait or face strikes on Iranian power plants. Deadlines changed from 48 hours to five days to ten days and then again 48 hours before he eventually gave up and accepted Iran's 10-point proposal.

US academic considers terms of agreement with Iran "major strategic defeat for Washington - Yemen Press Agency

WASHINGTON, April 08 (YPA) - American academic and founder of the Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST), Robert Pape, stated on Wednesday that the announced terms of the agreement between the US and Iran constitute a "major strategic defeat for Washington."

In a post on his "X" platform account, Pape noted that this loss is the largest for America since the Vietnam War, pointing out that accepting these conditions consolidates Iran's rise as a fourth global power center.

He highlighted that the "defeat" plan includes provisions that impose a new reality in the region, most notably: guaranteeing that no future attacks will be carried out against Iran, the lifting of all U.S. sanctions, and full Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz. He considered this a radical shift in the international balance of power in favor of Iran.

Iran had previously rejected a fifteen-point American plan, stipulating that any ceasefire would require the acceptance of its proposed plan and official approval from U.S. President Trump. This has effectively occurred, as Trump officially endorsed the ten-point Iranian plan as the basis for negotiations.

Iran may rise in 'full-scale defense' any moment as Israel violates truce agreement: Official

Iran could rise up in full-scale defense at any moment as the Israeli regime is resorting to violation of a fragile and temporary ceasefire, a senior security official has warned.

Speaking exclusively to Press TV on Wednesday, the official said the entire world is currently witnessing the regime destabilize the already tenuous truce reached earlier in the day.

According to the official, the regime is raising the cost of the agreement for the United States by breaching the ceasefire while simultaneously carrying out aggression against Lebanon and attacking Iran.

The highly placed official called on mediating countries to intervene immediately, stating that the time has come to "put this aggressor regime in its place."

He further warned that if the ceasefire collapses, the Zionist regime will be held solely responsible, vowing that Iran "will punish the aggressor."

The official also cautioned that the current period of ease, which followed the controlled reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, would come to a swift end if the violations continue.

Hegseth claims 'decisive victory' over Iran | Middle East Eye

Speaking at a press conference with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, Hegseth praised US President Donald Trump for "having made history", claiming that "historic and overwhelming" US-Israeli attacks had "decimated" Iran's miltary.

"President Trump forged this moment, Iran begged for this ceasefire, and we all know it," he said.

Iran Says Refinery Was Hit After Ceasefire As UAE, Kuwait And Bahrain Report Fresh Strikes (Videos)

A series of strikes hit a refinery on Iran Lavan Island on the morning of April 8, just a few hours after a two-week ceasefire with the United States and Israel was announced.

"Around 10 a.m.... the facilities of Lavan Oil Refinery, located on Lavan Island, were subjected to a cowardly attack by the enemies," Iran's National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company said in a statement carried by the Mehr news agency.

The company noted that there were no casualties. Video footage posted to social networks showed smoke rising from the refinery, which can produce over 55,000 barrels per day of gasoline and high-quality fuel.

The strikes were the first clear violation of the Pakistani-brokered temporary ceasefire announced by U.S. President Donald Trump earlier, and officially accepted by Iran.

Right after the strikes, several Gulf nations reported missile and drone attacks on their territories, in what was likely an Iranian response.

[...]

The exchange of strikes will not likely affect the planned talks between American and Iranian officials in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on April 9.

The latest attacks does show, however, that the ceasefire is fragile, and while Gulf nations and Iran have exchanged accusations, a third party may be behind the violations.

What is in the 10-point plan to end US-Israeli war on Iran? | Middle East Eye

The details of the plan have been released in both English and Persian on various channels - and there are some discrepancies between the two.

[...]

Many in Israel have already been spitting blood over the terms of the plan, with opposition leader Yair Lapid describing it as the biggest "political disaster in all of our history".

In particular, Israel has stated its opposition to the point calling for a ceasefire in Lebanon and an end to Israeli attacks on the country.

Eskandar Sadeghi-Boroujerdi, a historian of Iran and lecturer at the University of St Andrews, told Middle East Eye that, based on initial readings, the 10-point plan outstripped the 2015 nuclear deal, which Trump withdrew from unilaterally in 2018, "in almost every dimension".

"That was essentially a nuclear-for-sanctions-relief deal in which Iran accepted strict limits on enrichment and intrusive inspections, in exchange for partial and reversible sanctions relief," he said.

"[The 10-point plan] is not a nuclear deal. It is a comprehensive restructuring of the regional order in Iran's favour."

As the world reacts with a mixture of both relief and scepticism, Middle East Eye takes a look at what is - and isn't - included in Iran's 10-point plan:

12bytes: Key demands in the 10 point plan as outlined in the article:

  1. opening of the Strait of Hormuz
  2. sanctions removed
  3. guarantees against further attacks on Iran
  4. withdrawal of US forces from the region
  5. end attacks on Iran's allies (already violated by Israel)
  6. continue nuclear enrichment (present in Persian version, not English version)
  7. Reparations for damages (present in Persian version, not English version)

Defeat from the jaws of victory: Israel reacts to Trump's Iran ceasefire | US-Israel war on Iran News | Al Jazeera

As Israel contemplates a two-week ceasefire announced by United States President Donald Trump in the war on Iran on Tuesday night, it appears weakened in the eyes of its opponents and critics. Its arch-nemesis, Iran, is still standing; Israel's defensive stock of missiles is depleted and its prime minister is facing a political backlash.

Following news of the Pakistan-brokered truce, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office issued a statement in English, saying that the PM supports the US decision and claiming that "Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile and terror threat to America, Israel, Iran's Arab neighbours and the world."

12bytes: Need it be said yet again, Israel's beef with Iran is a religious one that has nothing to do with nuclear missiles, of which Israel--not Iran--has plenty. These demented parasitic pigs are out to destroy Muslims and Christians.

Israeli leaders: 'Not a single goal' achieved in war with Iran

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has sharply criticized prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu for supporting a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran, calling it a "political disaster."

Lapid made the remarks in a post on his X account on Wednesday, after Netanyahu's office said Israel supports US President Donald Trump's decision for a two-week ceasefire.

"There has never been such a political disaster in all of our history," Lapid said, adding that Israel "wasn't even at the table when decisions were made concerning the core of our security."

Lapid also stressed that Netanyahu "failed politically and strategically in achieving "even a single one of the goals that he himself set."

Furthermore, Iran is leveraging its strategic position to encourage non-dollar, crypto and/or yuan payments for tanker passage through the Strait of Hormuz, challenging the decades-long reliance on the dollar for energy trade. For the US, this is a total disaster, as it would provide a precedent for many other nations to switch to such payments, circumventing the petrodollar. The dismantling of the petrodollar would make the world a much fairer place, but the result would be catastrophic for the parasitic US economy, which is fully reliant on exploiting global resources and keeping everyone else in artificial poverty.

Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the most prominent warmongers and war criminals in Washington DC, openly complained about this in an interview, threatening to "blow up Iran". The mainstream propaganda machine jumped on the same bandwagon, even trying to justify the use of nuclear weapons.

IRGC pounded 25+ US-Israeli targets in 100th wave of Operation True Promise 4

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) pounded more than 25 strategic targets belonging to the United States and Israel in the 100th wave of the decisive Operation True Promise 4.

[...]

The IRGC enumerated the targets hit by ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and attack drones:

  • The Chevron refinery and oil facilities in Ras al-Juaymah, Saudi Arabia, described as the largest LNG fractionation facility supplying US energy.
  • ExxonMobil and Dow Chemical oil and petrochemical facilities in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
  • US oil facilities in Yanbu on the Red Sea coast with a production capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.
  • The Habshan oil facilities and the Dubai-Fujairah oil pipeline, built to bypass the Strait of Hormuz.
  • ExxonMobil oil facilities in Ras Laffan, Qatar, producing 146,000 barrels per day.
  • Bapco oil facilities in Bahrain, producing 267,000 barrels per day.
  • The Das American refinery in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), processing 60,000 barrels per day.
  • US oil company facilities in Fujairah with a one-million-cubic-meter storage capacity.
  • The Al-Ahmadi refinery in Kuwait, producing 346,000 barrels per day.
  • The Dolphin gas company in Qatar, with an export capacity of 2 billion cubic feet per day.
  • The Zirku Island oil facility, producing 750,000 barrels per day.
  • The Satrop American refinery, with a 460,000-barrel-per-day capacity, a key fuel source for power plants.
  • The Manifa American gas refinery, separating 900,000 barrels per day.
  • Israel's IT and advanced industry centers in Beersheba, occupied Palestine.
  • Intelligence and surveillance centers of the Israeli military and security apparatus in the Azrieli and Diamond towers in occupied Al-Quds.
  • US Central Command's regional headquarters in Al-Azraq, Jordan, with key targets destroyed.
  • Ben Gurion Airport in occupied Jaffa.
  • The Haifa oil refinery in occupied Palestine, producing 300,000 barrels per day.
  • The governmental complex of the Palestinian occupiers in the occupied capital, housing Zionist command and control centers.

Naval forces target US warships

The IRGC Navy, while continuing its smart control of the Strait of Hormuz, also struck several naval targets:

  • The LHA-7 helicopter carrier was hit by cruise missiles, suffering damage and deck fires before retreating into the depths of the Indian Ocean.
  • The CVN-74 aircraft carrier was struck by several drones, suffering hull damage and also retreating into the Indian Ocean.
  • An Israeli drone manufacturing plant in the UAE.
  • Oil facilities invested by US companies in LSB, Kuwait.
  • US base in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait.

'Finger on the trigger'

The IRGC warned that its fighters remain ready for further action.

The Gallows Law: Israel Moves Toward Executing Palestinian Children - Middle East Monitor

According to Israel's new death penalty law, Palestinian children, like adults, could, in practice, find themselves facing the gallows. This might take some by surprise, or even be dismissed as an exaggeration. Sadly, it is neither.

The death penalty law, passed by Israel's Knesset on March 30, mandates capital punishment for Palestinians convicted of carrying out deadly attacks. The legislation, often referred to as the 'Death Penalty for Terrorists' law, requires that executions be carried out swiftly, within 90 days, while sharply limiting avenues for appeal or commutation, according to human rights organizations including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

It resolves a long-standing political demand by Israel's far-right leadership to formalize execution as a tool of control over Palestinians. As extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has repeatedly argued, those accused of such acts "deserve death," framing the law not as an exception, but as a necessary policy.

Though the law itself does not explicitly mention children, it does not exclude them either. Knowing Israel's treatment and legal classification of Palestinian children, this distinction is not minor-it is decisive.

  • In its own words, PERIL was conceived as a political indoctrination project; to "develop an empirically-tested, nationally-scalable intervention to prevent youth from radicalizing to white supremacist extremism"
  • According to PERIL's research, signs of "white supremacist extremism" include concerns about the ongoing trend of demographic replacement in western countries, as well as "scientific racism."
  • Although PERIL claims to be non-partisan, Hughes has called Trumpism a "more insidious threat" to democracy than "revolutionary extremism," while Miller-Idriss has called the policies of the current administration "fascist."

Pentagon in a Mess as 'Zumwalt' Costs Near 10 Billion, F-47 Pushed to 2040s - Global Research

The US Military Industrial Complex (MIC) has been facing persistent acquisition and modernization challenges for decades.

This includes everything from new assault rifles to aerospace platforms.

During the 1990s, the Pentagon switched to a "futuristic" procurement strategy, which includes adopting seemingly "prospective", but risky systems based on theoretical rather than practical considerations.

This resulted in many projects ending up in a "development hell" spanning decades, with little or no operational deployment. One of the latest examples of this is the Boeing F-47 "sixth-generation" fighter for the United States Air Force (USAF) under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program, designed as the successor to the Lockheed Martin F-22A "Raptor".

New AI too dangerous for public release - Anthropic - RT Business News

Anthropic's new model is "extremely autonomous" and can reason like an advanced security researcher, Logan Graham, head of the company's frontier red team, told Axios. He said it can detect tens of thousands of vulnerabilities and, unlike previous models, generate the corresponding exploits.

In an interview with the New York Times, Graham stressed that the model marks "the starting point for what we think will be an industry change point, or reckoning, with what needs to happen now."

In a Wednesday blog post, Anthropic said the Mythos model will be available only to a select group of tech and cybersecurity companies, citing concerns over its ability to find and exploit security flaws.

Tehran celebrates as Iran, US agree to two-week ceasefire | US-Israel war on Iran News | Al Jazeera

The officials note that the initial US-Israeli strategy - attempting to collapse the Iranian government through targeted assassinations of leadership - failed. The subsequent weeks of conflict have, in their view, demonstrated Iran's capability to sustain military operations and defend itself indefinitely.

In contrast, Trump characterised the agreement as a "total and complete victory. 100 percent. No question about it," in a brief telephone interview with the AFP news agency shortly after announcing the deal. He added that Iran's uranium stockpiles would be "perfectly taken care of" under the terms, and acknowledged China's role in facilitating the negotiations.

Despite the truce, Democratic lawmakers say they will continue to pursue Trump's impeachment, citing his "genocidal" and "unhinged" rhetoric towards Iran.

Iran War, An Agreement to make an Agreement

12bytes: I corrected several of Ryan's typos. Either he doesn't proof-read anything he writes, or his eyes are still giving him trouble.

The war will continue until Friday between Israel and Lebanon. The Houthis (Ansar Allah) will do whatever they decide to do.

On Friday the US meets in Islamabad to go over Iran's 10 point offer. Let me repeat, this is to go over Iran's 10 point offer, not Trumps 15 point offer made on behalf of Israel.

Iran basically said this is our offer and then cut communications. In this proposal is in end of hostilities on all fronts.

Israel has no radar and they are getting lit up. Likewise southern Lebanon is being destroyed from the air but Israel is losing badly on the ground.

Trump went from 'we will only accept total surrender' just weeks ago to sitting down and listening to Iran's conditions.

There will be no restrictions on Iranian ballistic missiles. The Strait of Hormuz now belongs to Iran and they will be issuing fees like a toll booth to use it.

Note that the Strait was already open and free before the war. Trump has gained absolutely nothing from this war. America lost lives and billions of dollars. Only to now have to pay for shipping lanes that were once free. They will need to remove their military footprint from the Persian Gulf. Uranium enrichment will continue on Iranian soil how they see fit.

One of the biggest outcomes on the battle field of this war is the liberation of Iraq. The PMU and other forces destroyed the US base in Baghdad. The US had to retreat to Jordan. Iraq is finally free of these imperialist overlords for the first time in 23 years.

Trump will try to spin this as a victory for himself and he will say he got the Strait open with his threats of annihilation. Quite the opposite. The big bad wolf huffed and he puffed and the house stood still.

Iran issues its counter offer three days before Trump started going nuts on Truth Social. In the end after a failed raid, he made one final bluff and Iran simply cut off communications. Old hot air had no choice but to accept Iran's offer. He physically could not open the Strait and he could not use intimidation either.

Iran destroyed the special forces. They were no where close to running out of ballistic missiles and they closed the Strait. If the US went in heavy on the ground Iran would shut down the Red Sea too.

It was checkmate.

So what else are they demanding.

  • Sanction relief
  • Get out of the Gulf not just Iraq
  • Hormuz now cost 2 million per ship split between Iran and Oman
  • Security gurantees
  • Iran maintain ballistic missile and Uranium enrichment programs
  • The war ends on all fronts.

It is this last point that will have the most problems. Israel doesn't want the war to end. They saw it as their last chance. They want to annex more land. They want to steal a piece of Southern Lebanon. Netanyahu also needs a war to stay out of prison. Israelis are furious that he started a war he could not win. They are not mad at the immorality of bombing schools and hospitals. They are mad because they lost. Israel took hits and gained nothing. Iran is about to become richer than ever before. They now are the top of the wealth mountain not the Gulf Arab toilet regimes.

In the final day of the war Iran hit Saudi Arabia's largest petro-chemical plant knocking out 7% of their total GDP.

I pray the Americans simply walk away and that Israel is too arrogant and stupid to quit and so they continue to get bombed, their tanks blown up and IDF killed. Mark Levin had a complete crash out as the kids say. Watching him cry was funny.

Iran 'clear victor of war', admits leading Israeli newspaper

The US-Israeli war has ended in a "decisive victory for Iran," with both the US and Israel conceding to a "strategic surrender" and retreating from the battlefield, Israel's Maariv newspaper has admitted.

The review followed the announcement of a ceasefire early Wednesday after 41 days of intense fighting between Iran and US-Israeli forces.

The report highlighted that, despite the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran's political structure remained intact, its nuclear program preserved, and control over the Strait of Hormuz effectively in Tehran's hands.

Maariv pointed out that although the ceasefire is temporary, the negotiations set to begin later this week are likely to see Iran and the Axis of Resistance emerging as the key victors of the war.

Trump Announces Two Week Ceasefire With Iran But Strikes Go On (Videos)

United States President Donald Trump announced early on April 8 that he is pushing off a major bombing campaign in Iran for two weeks and that Washington has agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Tehran, subject to the latter reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

[...]

Separately, Iranian state media quoted the Supreme National Security Council confirming that talks with the U.S. will begin on April 9 in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, adding that the negotiations do not signal the end of the war.

[...]

Amid all of these developments, it was reported that the U.S. military halted operations against Iran. However, missiles were launched from the Islamic Republic at Israel, wounding at least two people in the south of the country. Israeli strikes also hit Iranian targets, in addition to targets of Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, there were reports of more attacks on Gulf countries, specifically Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

The U.S. accepting to discuss Iran's 10-point plan is without any doubt a major victory for the Islamic Republic, which could also use the two-week ceasefire to prepare for a possible return to fighting.

That's being said, multiple reports indicate that Israel is not happy with the deal, and it is possible that it will attempt to sabotage it.

Trump has shown willingness to back down from such deals before, but the situation with Iran may be too complex to allow for this. The U.S. took some serious losses and any return to fighting will likely require a serious escalation, like ground operations.

According to Amiri, Washington connected the vice president to the dialogue late on Tuesday evening, April 7. In turn, Beijing directly helped the Iranian side to accept the terms of the deal.

Why Did Trump Back Off? - Global Research

U.S. President Donald Trump had become the instrument of Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu via the longstanding Epstein enterprise, including control through the Rothschild financial system. The Rothschild's were Epstein's employers.

Israel ordered the attack on Iran as the final phase of the seven-nation regime-change strategy disclosed by General Wesley Clark more than two decades ago, shortly after 9/11.

Netanyahu's intent was to obliterate the Iranian state. The now-looming global financial collapse was likely not anticipated. Nevertheless, Netanyahu opposed Trump's cease-fire that was declared tonight with Iran's concurrence but has been overruled. This likely ends the Zionist revolution permanently.

Through his intransigence, Trump had lost the support of the American electorate, except for Zionist apologists and controllers. Lost in particular were his erstwhile MAGA supporters on the side of traditional Christian conservatism, especially the Catholics. Pope Leo, an American, has come out against the US-Israeli war of aggression.

But the strongest backing for Iran has come from Russia, China, and, now, France, combining to block a UNSC resolution authorizing force against Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz.

But there is a deeper level.

The one person on earth with the power to completely annihilate the U.S. is Russian President Vladimir Putin. We can be certain, as indicated by Col. Douglas MacGregor, that Putin has warned Trump that he risked nuclear war with Russia. This is a war the U.S. cannot survive.

Don't be fooled: This war is not only US versus Iran, it's Israel against America | Middle East Eye

This is a war that Israel is waging against both Iran and the overwhelming majority of Americans who oppose it. Most Americans want their country liberated from the chokehold of Israel, the settler colony they finance at the high cost of their own wellbeing.

More than two decades ago, in The Anarchy of Empire in the Making of U.S. Culture, the late Amy Kaplan diagnosed how domestic issues and foreign affairs are deeply intertwined. The notion of any wall between them is delusional.

At this very moment, Israel's war against American public opinion - its desperate urge to silence dissent against this abusive relationship - is no less pernicious than its bombing of Iranian civilians, civil infrastructure, oil refineries, gas reserves and world-renowned cultural heritage sites.

Since the United States and Iran announced a temporary ceasefire, conflicting accounts have emerged over whether Lebanon is included in the de-escalation agreement.

Missile Wreckage Confirms Israel Is Running Low On Interceptors (Video)

The wreckage of an interceptor missile found in southern Israel on April 7 provided the first evidence that the country's multi-layered air defense network is facing a shortage.

Video footage of the wreckage, determined to belong to a Stunner interceptor fired from a David's Sling air defense system, surfaced online just a few hours before the United States announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran. Israel voiced its support of the ceasefire, which came 39 days after the start of the war on the Islamic Republic.

The interceptor, found in the Arab Bedouin town of Tel Sheva, carried markings indicating that it was only produced in January of this year.

This indicates that Israel burned through most of its Stunner stockpiles, and was using interceptors produced just a few months before the start of the war on Iran.

Nima R. Alkhorshid: Iran-US Double Ceasefire: What Just Happened?

A sudden two-week ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. is announced, with talks set to begin in Pakistan. The discussion argues the shift was driven by battlefield realities-depleted defenses, limited missiles, and failed operations-rather than diplomacy. It claims Iran gained leverage through sustained strikes and strategic positioning, forcing negotiations on its terms. Key points include control over the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief, and no limits on missile programs. The war is portrayed as costly for all sides, with heavy destruction and uncertain outcomes, while upcoming negotiations may reshape regional power dynamics.

Full text of Iran's National Security Council statement on ceasefire | Middle East Eye

A ceasefire has opened a narrow window for diplomacy after weeks of escalating conflict that began with US-Israeli strikes on Iran and prompted retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the region.

The fighting disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy route, and raised fears of a wider regional war.

The two-week pause, announced by US President Donald Trump, followed mediation efforts led by Pakistan and is tied to the reopening of the strait and the start of negotiations in Islamabad.

Both sides have claimed military gains, with Washington saying it achieved its core objectives and Tehran saying it forced the United States to accept the framework of its demands.

Talks expected to begin in the coming days will focus on issues including maritime transit, sanctions relief and the presence of US forces in the region.

Iranian officials have said the negotiations do not signal the end of the war, while US officials have described them as an opportunity for a broader agreement.

The outcome remains uncertain, with the ceasefire seen as a temporary de-escalation rather than a lasting settlement.

Here is the full text of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Statement on the ceasefire:

"The enemy, in its cowardly, illegal, and criminal war against the Iranian nation, has suffered an undeniable, historical, and crushing defeat. By the grace of the pure and holy blood of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (Peace be upon him), the prudent measures of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief, His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei (May God protect him), and the struggle and bravery of the warriors of Islam on the fronts-especially the historical, lasting, and heroic presence of you, the dear nation, on the scene since the very first days of the war-Iran has achieved a massive victory and forced criminal America to accept its 10-point plan.

In this plan, America is fundamentally committed to guaranteeing non-aggression, the continuation of Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, the acceptance of enrichment, the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, the termination of all resolutions of the Security Council and the Board of Governors, the payment of Iran's damages, the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from the region, and the cessation of war on all fronts, including against the heroic Islamic Resistance of Lebanon.

We congratulate all the people of Iran on this victory and emphasise that until the details of this victory are finalised, there remains a need for the steadfastness and prudence of officials and the maintenance of unity and solidarity among the Iranian people.

Islamic Iran, along with the brave mujahideen of the Resistance in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and occupied Palestine, has dealt blows to the enemy over the past 40 days that the global historical memory will never forget. Iran and the Axis of Resistance, as representatives of honour and humanity against the most savage enemies of mankind, have given them an unforgettable lesson after a historical battle.

They have so crushed their forces, facilities, infrastructure, and all their political, economic, technological, and military assets that the enemy is now plunged into collapse and desperation, seeing no path before it other than surrender to the will of the great nation of Iran and the honourable Axis of Resistance.

On the first day, when the criminal enemies of Iran began this oppressive war, they imagined they would succeed in complete military dominance over Iran in a short time and force Iran to surrender by creating political and social instability. They thought Iran's missile and drone fire would be quickly extinguished and did not believe that Iran could deliver such a powerful response beyond its borders and across the entire region.

Global evil Zionism had convinced the ignorant President of America that this war would finish Iran, allowing them-after removing this last bastion of humanity and mankind-to comfortably commit any crime against anyone they wished from then on. They dreamed of partitioning dear Iran, plundering its oil and wealth, and ultimately leaving Iranians immersed in chaos, instability, and insecurity for many long years.

The brave warriors of Islam and their courageous allies in the Axis of Resistance, despite their hearts being wounded and torn by the martyrdom of their Imam, decided-relying on Almighty God and following the Lord and Master of Martyrs-to give these enemies a historical lesson once and for all. They chose to take revenge for all previous crimes and create conditions where the enemy would forever cast away the thought of aggression against dear Iran, fully tasting the flavour of humiliation and abasement before the great nation of Iran.

With this strategy and relying on the unprecedented political and social unity established within the country, Iran and the Resistance initiated one of the heaviest hybrid battles in history against America and the Zionist regime, achieving all the objectives designed for this conflict during this period.

Iran and the Resistance almost completely destroyed the American military machine in the region; they dealt crushing and profound blows to the vast infrastructure and facilities that the enemy had built and stationed around the region over the years for this war against Iran. In regional dimensions, they imposed extensive casualties on the criminal American army, and within the occupied territories, they delivered heavy and shattering blows to the enemy's forces, infrastructure, facilities, and assets.

They so constrained the field on all fronts that not only were none of the enemy's main objectives realised, but the enemy realised approximately 10 days after the start of the war that it would in no way have the capability to win this war. For this reason, it began attempting to establish contact with Iran and requesting a ceasefire through various channels and methods.

The honourable nation of Iran must know that, by the grace of their children's struggle and their historic presence on the scene, the enemy has been pleading for over a month for the cessation of the fierce fire of Iran and the Resistance. However, the country's officials-because it had been decided from the very beginning that the war would continue until objectives were achieved, including the enemy's regret and desperation and the removal of long-term threats from the country-gave a negative response to all these requests, and the war continued until today, which is the fortieth day.

Furthermore, Iran has so far rejected several deadlines presented by the President of the United States and continues to emphasise that it grants no importance to any type of deadline from the enemy.

We now give tidings to the great nation of Iran that almost all war objectives have been realized and your brave children have driven the enemy to a historic helplessness and a lasting defeat. Iran's historic decision, backed by the unified support of the entire nation, is to continue this battle for as long as necessary until its massive achievements are consolidated and new security and political equations are created in the region based on the acceptance of the power and sovereignty of Iran and the Resistance.

In this regard, and according to the prudence of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei (May God protect him), and the approval of the Supreme National Security Council-and considering Iran and the Resistance's upper hand in the battlefield, the enemy's inability to carry out its threats despite all claims, and the formal acceptance of all the rightful demands of the Iranian people-it was decided that negotiations be held in Islamabad to finalise the details. This is so that within a maximum of 15 days, with the finalisation of details, Iran's victory on the field shall also be consolidated in political negotiations.

To this end, while rejecting all plans presented by the enemy, Iran drafted a 10-point plan and presented it to the American side via the country of Pakistan. It emphasized fundamental points such as controlled passage through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with Iran's armed forces (which grants Iran a unique economic and geopolitical position), the necessity of ending the war against all components of the Axis of Resistance (which signifies a historic defeat for the aggression of the child-killing Israeli regime), the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from all bases and deployment points in the region, the establishment of a secure transit protocol in the Strait of Hormuz such that it guarantees Iranian dominance according to the agreed protocol, the full payment of Iran's damages according to estimates, the removal of all primary and secondary sanctions and resolutions of the Board of Governors and the Security Council, the release of all blocked Iranian properties and assets abroad, and finally, the approval of all these items in a binding Security Council resolution. It is worth noting that the approval of this resolution will turn all these agreements into binding international law and will create an important diplomatic victory for the nation of Iran.

Now, the honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan has informed Iran that the American side, despite all outward threats, has accepted these principles as the basis for negotiations and has surrendered to the will of the Iranian nation. Accordingly, at the highest level, it has been decided that Iran will engage in negotiations in Islamabad with the American side for a period of two weeks, based solely on these principles. It is emphasised that this does not mean the end of the war; Iran will only accept the termination of the war once the details-given the acceptance of Iran's preferred principles in the 10-point plan-are finalised in the negotiations.

These negotiations will begin in Islamabad on Friday, April 10 (21 Farvardin), with complete distrust of the American side, and Iran will allocate two weeks for these talks. This timeframe is extendable by mutual agreement. It is essential that during this period, complete national unity be maintained and victory celebrations continue with strength.

The current negotiations are national negotiations and a continuation of the battlefield; it is necessary for all people, elites, and political groups to trust and support this process, which is under the supervision of the Leader of the Revolution and the highest levels of the system, and to strictly avoid any divisive comments.

If the enemy's surrender on the battlefield is transformed into a decisive political achievement in the negotiations, we will celebrate this massive historical victory together; otherwise, we will fight side-by-side on the battlefield until all the demands of the Iranian nation are met. Our hands are on the trigger, and the moment the slightest error is committed by the enemy, it will be responded to with full power."

Statement of Iran's Supreme National Security Council on the Two-Week Ceasefire and Negotiation Conditions

If you think the war is over, think again. Iran has not agreed to a ceasefire. They have agreed to stop retaliating as long as Israel and the US stop their attacks. So that ball is in the West's corner. Despite the White House claim that the Strait of Hormuz is now open for business, it is not. Iran will continue to allow ships on a case-by-case basis to enter and leave the Persian Gulf after paying a cover charge.

[...]

It was the US, not Iran, that has pleaded for the last four weeks to restart negotiations. Unlike the previous two times, Iran harbors no illusions about the capacity of the US to engage in treachery and trickery. Iran is not going to soften its demands.

The Zionists are going crazy over this and Netanyahu and his government are in a state of panic. If JD Vance succeeds in securing a deal with Iran, it will likely mean no more support for Israel's war machine. If Israel launches any new attacks on Iran in the coming two weeks, Iran will immediately retaliate.

The wild card in this is Hezbollah. If Israel continues to attack Lebanon and the Hezbollah positions in the south of Lebanon, Hezbollah will continue to wreak havoc on the Zionist forces.

Israeli forces shelled the town of Baraachit in southern Lebanon, Al Jadeed TV reported, in an apparent escalation following statements that the US.-Iran ceasefire does not cover the Lebanon front.

The reported attack came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the truce excludes fighting with Hezbollah.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who helped mediate the deal, had said the agreement called for an "immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and elsewhere."
