Khamenei dead, Iran vows revenge - IRAN WAR NEWS - 1-Mar-2026 (update 3)

"I don't believe in western morality, i.e. don't kill civilians or children, don't destroy holy sites, don't fight during holiday seasons, don't bomb cemeteries, don't shoot until they shoot first because it is immoral. The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. US Special Forces Green Beret tells the truth about the Jews and Israel

12bytes: This is from last year. The IDF would set up aid distribution centers far away from where they were needed, pass out minimal rations, including dried food with no water to cook it or to drink and murder some of the Palestinians trying to get food. Water was desperately needed because the IDF and the Zionist settlers would poison the wells in Palestine or blow-up the infrastructure. This is ongoing and has since spread to the West Bank.

Iran Prepared for an Existential War. How Much Are Trump and Israel Willing to Gamble?

On Saturday, President Donald Trump went to TruthSocial to announce the U.S. and Israel had been successful in assassinating Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. "Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead," Trump wrote. "He was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do."

The New York Times followed with a breathless account published Sunday purporting to tell the secret story of how the CIA and Israel hunted down Khamenei, "tracking him for months" and "gaining more confidence about his locations and his patterns," before pinpointing his location so he could be killed. "People briefed on the operation described it as a product of good intelligence and months of preparations," the report claimed.

Khamenei's secret location, it turned out, was simply his office.

The U.S. and Israel have consistently claimed Khamenei was in hiding. "This is basically just fabricated drama to make Trump look bigger and more dramatic than he really is," a senior Iranian official told Drop Site. He spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about internal matters.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council "personally recommended to [Khamenei] that he relocate, change his workplace, and even adjust his living arrangements for safety reasons," the Iranian official said. "But [Khamenei] had a completely different perspective on moving-he insisted on keeping things as normal and ordinary as possible, without seeking extra security measures or standing out in any way."

Mohammad Marandi: Iran's Supreme Leader MARTYRED in US-Israeli Attacks, Tehran Says You Will Regret

Urgent analysis of escalating US/Israel-Iran military conflict. Discussion covers Iran's strategic retaliation targeting US bases across the Persian Gulf, rapid depletion of Western air defense systems, and Tehran's advantages in a war of attrition. Key points: Iran's vast underground missile stockpiles, mobile launchers difficult to neutralize, and potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz affecting 25% of global oil flows. Critiques flawed Western intelligence assumptions about Iranian public opinion and regime stability. Examines how sustained Iranian strikes could compel US withdrawal from regional bases, involvement of Hezbollah and Houthis opening multiple fronts against Israel, and potential diplomatic/military support from Russia and China. Highlights Iran's historical resilience, the prohibitive costs of prolonged conflict for Western powers, and growing global economic pressure as oil markets react. A sobering assessment of a rapidly evolving conflict with profound geopolitical consequences, emphasizing that military solutions may exacerbate rather than resolve regional tensions.

Warmongerers and idiots that support America's war in Iran

UPDATE 2

12bytes: We seem to have enough information at this point to be able to confirm that, as predicted, Iran is deploying mostly its older weapons in order to deplete enemy air defenses while its more advanced weapon systems are being held for a later time. It's also a virtual certainty that the U.S. and Israel do not possess the necessary quantity of offensive or defensive arms in order to maintain their current level of engagement for more than a couple of weeks at most. Meanwhile, Iran has massive stockpiles of missiles and sea-borne and air-borne drones. This is the war that, for the last 20+ years, Iran has been preparing for.

In my personal view, Iran seems to be managing the war fairly well, however i did not expect their air defenses to be overwhelmed or destroyed as quickly as they seem to have been and thus Tehran is taking a bit of a beating. The Iranian people are a most resilient lot however and, as expected, there is no sign whatsoever of them turning against their government, quite the opposite actually. We saw exactly the same response during last year's 12 day war.

The attack on Saturday morning hit Shajareh Tayyebeh school in the city of Minab, in Hormozgan province, as the United States and Israel began launching strikes on targets across Iran.

Iran has taught Russia how to negotiate with the Americans

Simply put, Iran has surrendered its nuclear program. He made unilateral concessions and, in fact, capitulated at the negotiating table. A few hours later, the first missile attack was launched on it.

In an address to the nation, US President Donald Trump called the purpose of the US and Israeli military operation the destruction of all infrastructure that allows Iran to create nuclear weapons. But Iran has already been "bent" in Switzerland to dismantle this infrastructure. The representatives of Tehran did not just promise not to create their own nuclear bomb, they agreed to dispose of enriched uranium. And they got a big war for their compliance.

After Bases, Next Logical Step Will Be For Iran to Target US Warships: Retired Russian Navy Captain

"Judging by satellite pictures, one thing is certain: some of [Iran's] missile strikes hit their targets, including the base of the US 5th Fleet," Russian military expert and retired Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin told Sputnik, commenting on Iran's retaliation to the US and Israel's unprovoked aggression.

"While there were no ships there, it's clear that the strike itself was significant. It's clear the base's famous radar dome - one of the most important and expensive elements of the US missile defense system, was damaged. Some estimates suggest it cost over $1B, and detects missile launches at long ranges. This is a major loss for the US, and because it probably works in Israel's interest, theirs as well."

Iran's targeting of US bases likely also included "real losses" of personnel, something the administration may try to minimize, Dandykin believes.

Going forward, Iran could launch additional strikes on the bases it already hit, find new targets, and, "most likely," target "American naval forces," according to the observer.

IRGC Says Launched Strikes on 3 US, UK Tankers in Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN (Sputnik) - Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that it had launched missile strikes against three US ans UK tankers in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

"In continuation of attacks on enemy naval targets, three violating tankers of the United States and the Unied Kingdom were subjected to missile strikes in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, and they are now on fire," the IRGC said in a statement, as quoted by the Fars news agency.

What impact will the Iran-US-Israel escalation have on global oil prices?

International monitoring systems for oil tanker traffic have reported that the speed of ships around the Strait of Hormuz has dropped to zero.

The area between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman is the world's foremost chokepoint for oil and petroleum products, with around 20 million barrels per day passing through since 2024.

That number represents up to 30% of global seaborne oil trade, while a fifth of global LNG also passes through the 46km-wide, high-risk channel.

UAE Takes Burnt Of Iranian Attacks With Israeli Embassy, French Base And CIA Center Hit (Videos)South Front

The Islamic Republic began launching missile and drone attacks at the UAE and other countries in the Middle East, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman, in response to the attack launched by the United States and Israel a day earlier.

In a statement, the Emirati Ministry of Defense said that 167 missiles and 541 drones were launched toward the country, of which 506 were intercepted and destroyed, while 35 crashed within its territory and caused property damage.

Some high-value targets were reportedly hit. Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that the headquarters of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Dubai was among the targets hit.

Neither the UAE, nor the U.S. commented on these claims. The two countries are known, however, to be close security partners.

Another report by Reuters said that debris from an intercepted drone damaged the Etihad Towers complex in Abu Dhabi which houses the Israeli embassy and several other international missions. A woman and her child sustained minor injures as a result of the incident, according to Emirate authorities.

Separately, videos posted online confirmed that the French naval base in Abu Dhabi, Camp de la Paix, was hit. The footage shows smoke rising from the base.

US troop deaths ignite anger over 'war for Israel' | Middle East Eye

Three American service members have been killed and five others seriously wounded while participating in the joint US-Israeli war on Iran, the Pentagon confirmed on Sunday - marking the first US fatalities since the conflict began.

US Central Command said additional personnel suffered minor shrapnel wounds and concussions. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing," the statement read.

NBC News, citing US officials, reported that the attack that killed the soldiers occurred in Kuwait.

The deaths have triggered fierce criticism in the United States, where opponents argue that Washington entered a war long pushed by Israel.

"Trump, Vance, Tulsi, and all of us campaigned on no more foreign wars and regime change," she added. "Now, America [sic] soldiers are dead."

Israel Bombards Tehran, Iran Expands Ring Of Fire To Oman And Hit First Tanker (Videos)South Front

Israel launched a violent attack against the Iranian capital, Tehran, on March 1, as the Islamic Republic expanded its retaliatory operations to Oman and attacked a tanker near the strategic Strait of Hormuz for the first time.

The Israeli Defense Forces said that it launched strikes "targets of the Iranian terror regime in the heart of Tehran," after establishing air superiority over the city. It later shared footage showing strikes on what was described as a "headquarters of the Iranian terror regime" there.

Other videos released by the IDF show separate strikes against Iranian ballistic missile launchers, air defenses, drones and even fighter jets over the past day.

[...]

Overnight, Iran expanded its attacks against Israel and U.S. bases across the Middle East as news of the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei broke out.

Several waves of missile and drone strikes targeted Israel, with multiple impacts being reported. One wave in the early morning left a woman dead in the city of Tel Aviv. Dozens others were wounded. Unlike the war last June, Israel has so far refrained from providing any specific numbers.

Additional attacks were also reported in Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Iran didn't stop there, however, but also attacked Oman, which until very recently was playing the rule of mediators in talks with the U.S.

Oman's Duqm commercial port was hit by two drones, injuring one expatriate worker, the state news agency reported. [...]

Later, the country's maritime security center reported that Palau-flagged oil tanker Skylight was attacked about five nautical miles off Oman's Musandam. Four people are injured and the whole crew of 20 people is evacuated.

The attack is believed to be an attempt by Iran to forcefully close the Strait of Hormuz. The strategic waterway is the world's most vital oil export route, which connects the biggest Gulf oil producers, such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates, with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.

Following the successful attack, Reuters reported that over 150 tankers stopped moving in international waters in the Persian Gulf.

Overall, it is clear now that the American-Israeli attack on Iran has sparked a regional conflict. The Islamic Republic's retaliatory operations have reached almost every part of the region, from Oman to even Cyprus, where a British base was reportedly targeted.

More escalation is to be expected as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has vowed to punish the "murderers" of Khamenei. U.S. President Donald Trump from his side threatens to hit Iran with unprecedented force.

People Cheer In Bahrain As Iranian Missiles Target American, British Troops (Videos)South Front

Iran fired two missiles towards Cyprus, where thousands of British soldiers are stationed, John Healey, the Defence Secretary of the United Kingdom, said on March 1, adding that Iranian strikes also landed within just "a few hundred yards" of British troops in Bahrain.

The U.S. Naval Support Activity Bahrain was devastated by Iranian missile and drone strikes. The base, located near Manama, is home to the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and Fifth Fleet. A large radar dome was destroyed by one of the strikes.

In addition to the base, several high-rise buildings in Manama, and the city of Muharraq had been targeted by drones and missiles. Bahrain International Airport near the capital was also struck.

Notably, the videos that came out from Bahrain, shows people cheering and celebrating as Iranian missiles and drones hit their targets. This is not surprising, however. Just like Iran, the majority of the population in Bahrain are from the Shia Muslim sect.

Hormuz Strait's Closure Could Trigger Collapse of Dollar System: Here's How

The US and Israel's unprovoked attack on Iran and Iran's retaliatory closure of the narrow choke point exit from the Persian Gulf may have "cascading consequences for the global economy," culminating in severe blows to the US dollar and other fiat currencies, says energy economist Dr. Kazi Sohag.

"Approximately 17-20 million barrels of oil - representing over 20% of the world's daily consumption - pass through this narrow waterway every day. These shipments originate primarily from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Kuwait, Iran, and Qatar, and flow toward major importers including China, India, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union," Sohag explained.

"But the ripple effects would not stop there. The Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Suez Canal-already volatile due to Houthi activity in the Red Sea-could also face further disruptions. Currently, 8.8 to 9.2 million barrels of oil and 4.1 billion cubic feet of liquefied natural gas transit those routes daily. A synchronized blockade across these chokepoints would magnify the supply shock exponentially."

If sustained, the "immediate consequence" of the supply disruption will be "a sharp spike in energy prices," not only via physical shortages of crude, but thanks to amplification by financial market speculators, hedge funds, banks and algorithmic traders trading futures, Sohag explained.

More broadly, the energy crunch may cause global stock markets to plunge and inflation to surge, "not just in fuel, but across transport, manufacturing and food production, rendering basic goods and services unaffordable for many."

The United States and Israel attack Iran in the midst of negotiations

The military confrontation between the United States, Israel, and Iran marks a major rupture in the security balance of the Middle East. The escalation was triggered by coordinated airstrikes against several strategic Iranian cities, followed by an immediate response from Tehran targeting Israeli military sites as well as American bases in the region. This situation arose paradoxically while nuclear negotiations were taking place in Geneva and Iran had offered certain diplomatic concessions, including a partial transfer of enriched uranium to Russia and a temporary suspension of nuclear enrichment. The current conflagration thus reflects the abrupt collapse of a still fragile de-escalation process and further weakens the international non-proliferation architecture.

Indeed, the joint offensive launched on the morning of February 28, 2026, was presented by Washington as a preemptive action and by Tel Aviv as "Operation Lion's Roar." The attack mobilized a combination of cruise missiles, armed drones, and fighter jets, targeting several Iranian regions, including Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, Kermanshah, and Tabriz. Explosions were reported in urban areas, causing damage to residential neighborhoods and disruptions to electricity and telephone networks.

The strikes targeted not only military installations but also civilian and industrial infrastructure. Media reports mention, in particular, the attack on a girls' school in Minab, in Hormozgan province, where several dozen students were killed, raising serious concerns about the potentially indiscriminate nature of the operation. Military targets included ballistic missile production sites, drone depots, and the residences of Iranian military and civilian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This strategy is part of a maximum pressure campaign aimed at neutralizing what US authorities consider an imminent nuclear threat. However, the choice to use force when a diplomatic compromise was possible constitutes a deliberate sabotage of the international negotiation process.

Trump bit off more than he can chew with Iran - ex-Pentagon analyst - RT World News

"The United States has always done Israel's bidding. Netanyahu basically controls Trump," Maloof claimed, adding that the US president has effectively pursued the Israeli PM's vision of "a greater Israel to encompass all the Arab countries."

Trump openly declared his goal to force regime change in Tehran, but efforts to topple Iran's government would face major obstacles, according to Maloof.

"Regime change is something that is going to be difficult, especially in Iran, where they're very, very set. They have a government in place," he said. Even with the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps would likely keep the country functioning as a "cohesive nation-state."

Iran Confirms Death Of Khamenei, President Pezeshkian Is No Where To Be SeenSouth Front

Iran confirmed on March 1 that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the American-Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic that began a day earlier.

[...]

Thousands rallied in different parts of Iran to call for revenge after the death of Khamenei was confirmed. Protests were also reported near the Green Zone in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, where the U.S. embassy is located, as well as near the U.S. consulate in Pakistan's Karachi, were clashes broke out and at least six people were killed.

[...]

Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed to punish the "murderers" of Khamenei, promising what it says will be the "most ferocious offensive operation in history" against U.S. bases and Israel.

[...]

Besides Khamenei, Iran confirmed the death of: Ali Shamkhani, a former IRGC Navy chief and Iranian army chief, and a top adviser to the Supreme Leader; Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the IRGC; Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, and Sayyid Abdolrahim Mousavi, chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

In total, it is reported that over 40 senior officials and commanders of the Islamic Republic were killed in the opening strikes of the war.

Killing the Ayatollah Khamenei Has Inflamed the Shi'a World

Donald Trump and the neocons are wild with joy tonight over the murder of the Ayatollah Khamenei... This is just one more example of Western ignorance about the implications of the Ayatollah's martyrdom. Let's start with the fact that the Ayatollah is the one who issued the fatwa 36 years ago declaring that it would be a sin for Iran to build or use a nuclear bomb. So the West thinks that killing the one guy who has been the main obstacle preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon is a good idea?

The Shi'a communities across the region took to the streets to protest and mourn the Ayatollah's passing. In neighboring Baghdad a large crowd of Shi'a are now trying to breach the Green Zone. Iraqi security forces are trying to hold them back. This assassination by the United States and Israel was intended to weaken the Islamic Republic and set the stage for regime change. I think it will have the opposite effect, i.e., strengthen support for the government and bolster the status of hardliners who have zero inclination to compromise with the West.

True Promise 4: IRGC launches new waves of missiles at Israeli, American targets

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched the third, fourth and fifth waves of its retaliatory military operation late on Saturday by launching a barrage of missiles at the Israeli-occupied territories.

In a statement at around 11:45 am local time, the IRGC public relations division said the third and fourth waves of Operation True Promise 4 were launched against the extensive military targets of the US and the Zionist regime.

It said the operation was carried out with missiles more advanced than those used in Operation True Promise 4 during the 12-day war in June last year, with greater precision and ferocity.

The statement added that the Israeli army's naval base in Haifa Port, the regime's warship dock in Haifa, the Ramat David Air Base, the regime's ministry of war in the Hakeryat area, the Beit Shams military-industrial complex, and the Ishtod military-industrial complex were among the targets during the latest third and fourth waves.

Following the announcement, sirens went off throughout the northern and central parts of the occupied territories, as reported in the Israeli media.

The Israeli regime's Channel 12 reported that a series of high-intensity blasts rang out across the occupied territories, while footage circulated online displayed columns of smoke rising in Tel Aviv, implying a direct and powerful impact.

Iran pounds Israel, keeps up attacks on regional U.S. bases overnight - Tehran Times

TEHRAN - Iranian Armed Forces seemed to pour more focus into pummeling Israeli sites in the occupied territories on Saturday night and in the early hours of Sunday, but also continued to target U.S. and Israeli assets across the Persian Gulf, and expanded its operation to include the Indian Ocean.

Israel imposes heavy restrictions on the flow of information regarding the impact of Iranian attacks in the occupied territories-a policy it also maintained during the 12-day war. However, unwitting slips by Hebrew media showing the exact moments Iranian missiles hit their targets in Israel, as well as reports by Western journalists deployed to the occupied territories, and a small number of videos that made it to social media indicate that Iran made the night difficult for Israelis, at least those occupying Palestinian lands in Tel Aviv.

The statement said Iranian naval and air forces would continue operations against what it called enemy units.
