Mojeek is Not an Answer Engine

Mojeek is a privacy friendly and relatively unbiased search engine with its own index. Unlike DuckDuckGo, Startpage, Quant, Swisscows, etc., Mojeek does not rely on any 3rd party indexes whatsoever. While the company has indexed only a small portion of the indexable web, it is usable and their index is growing rapidly as they upgrade hardware and expand their storage capability. Mojeek also offers some nice features, such as Focus and an AI generated summary of your search query, but as the article below indicates, the results themselves are ultimately a product of actual web crawling, not AI.

Almost all companies in search are rushing to embed AI answers into search results pages. Google has rolled out AI Overviews. Microsoft has fused Bing with CoPilot. And others are moving quickly in the same direction.

The intent is clear. Instead of connecting you to the web, these so-called search engines are keeping you away from it.
