I've known about Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) for decades. Anyone researching alternative health will inevitably run across DMSO, as i have many times, but i never really dug into it until very recently.

DMSO is natures solvent, though it's also available in its synthetic form. Use of DMSO in medicine dates from around 1963, when an Oregon Health & Science University Medical School team, headed by Stanley Jacob, discovered it could penetrate the skin and other membranes without damaging them and could carry other compounds into a biological system. Note that DMSO freezes at about 65 F (19 C), but placing the container in warm water will liquefy it again (do not heat it on a stove or in a microwave oven).

As of this writing, i've been applying a roughly 20% solution of DMSO and filtered water (1 part DMSO to 4 parts filtered water) to my eyes several times a day for several weeks using a glass dropper. I've noticed a few worrying issues with my eyesight over the last 10 years or so, one being a sort of dull pain or pressure in my eyes and another being one eye that is nearsighted while the other is farsighted. I don't wear any corrective lenses and have never had any eye surgery and i'd like to keep it that way, but reading small text, such as the list of ingredients on most food product labels, or on my phone when the font size is set to its default, has become nearly impossible without reading glasses.
