The Black Vault's 2025 JFK Files Search Tool - The Black Vault

This is purely a beta version of a dedicated search engine for the 2025 JFK Files release. With the help of AI, this engine was built to offer a quick way to search certain keywords in the documents. You will see, the OCR on these old document PDFs is far from perfect. But, it's a starting point. This is just a beta version to pave the way for more advanced search capabilities on The Black Vault, a capability that has been lacking over the years due to the sheer size of the archive.

First of all, the 2025 JFK file dump does not represent all of the JFK files. For example, searching the documents for "israel" returns 124 results, but searching for "dimona" returns only 2 and we know that one of the key motives Israel had for wanting Kennedy erased was his insistence that Dimona be subject to nuclear inspections since it was known that Israel was building "the bomb". In one of the documents, 157-10014-10005.pdf, dated 9-Jun-1975, there is a very interesting exchange between Frederick Schwarz, Chief Counsel during a Senate Select Committee to Study Government Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities, and James Jesus Angleton, former CIA Counterintelligence Chief who also oversaw the Israeli Desk:

Mr. Schwrz. Mr. Angleton, has the Central Intelligence Agency directly or Indirectly transferred any atomic technology or know-how to Israel?

Mr. Angleton. From my knowledge, the answer is an absolute no.

Mr. Schwarz. I want to make sure that I have asked the question broadly enough. Did the Agency take any steps to make available to the Israelis any personnel who had knowlede about atomic matters.

Mr. Angleton. None whatsoever.
