THE END

I'm calling it quits.
I've been running a website since the early 2000's for the purpose of sharing what i've learned over the last ~25 years, hoping to help people learn more about the world they live in according to the way i've come to understand it.
One of the unfortunate things i've learned is that the global situation continues to get worse despite the efforts of good people. While the occasional battle is won, it seems the war is being lost and so i don't see the point in engaging anymore. It's time for me to put all this behind me and enjoy life.
This website will expire in late August, 2026. The domain will expire in February, 2027. Following are some stats for 12bytes.org:

For those that want to know more about why i made the decision to let this website expire, i offer the following...
I respect activists that fight for ethical causes, especially those that are willing to take risks for what they believe in. Unfortunately i think the vast majority, myself included, are fighting the wrong battles, which is why the war is being lost. The formula, as i see it, is simple: money = greed = corruption. As long as the potential for greed exists, the system will always return to a state of corruption and contrary to what many believe, greed does not appear to be an inherent attribute of the human species, at least not according to thinkers and futurists far smarter than i, Jacque Fresco being one of them.
On occasion i've proposed the following scenario to various people: You're tasked with rebooting the world. All of our existing systems no longer exist. You're starting from scratch. What kind of world would you design? In every case they've failed to think outside of the box, instead imagining ways to correct our current systems rather than questioning if such systems are even needed.
Mike Ruppert is one of those people i admired. I didn't agree with all of his positions, but he fought hard to expose and correct the corruption inherent in our systems and paid a dear price for doing so. In the end he gave up trying to educate the masses and said something that stuck with me ever since. He said that, if you're camping with friends and a bear attacks, you don't have to be faster than the bear, you only have to be faster than the slowest camper. Mike took his own life in 2014.
Good bye and good luck.
