Weaponizing Jewish fear, from Tel Aviv to Amsterdam
There is a lot to unpack in this statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the unrest and violence surrounding last week's soccer match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax. Those events began ahead of the game with the Israeli club's fans charging around the city tearing down Palestinian flags from apartment windows, attacking a taxi driver, and chanting "Let the IDF win and fuck the Arabs" (upon their return to Israel, they were also filmed chanting "Why is school out in Gaza? Because there are no children left there").
Amsterdam - Anti-Semitic Pogrom or Zionist Provocation?
Yep, just some innocent Jewish soccer fans minding their own business and attacked for no other reason than that they are Jewish. Right?
But then I saw this. Prior to the game, some Israeli's wandering the streets of Amsterdam decided to destroy Palestinian flags hanging from private homes. There are other videos, I'm just posting one.
Then I saw the video of the Zionist fans heading to the stadium, chanting, "Kill the Arabs, kill the Muslims."
Footage by a teenage YouTuber shows Tel Aviv Maccabi hooligans attacking Dutch police while pelting private homes with stones and hunting victims with metal pipes. The video offers the clearest evidence yet Israeli ultras provoked the violence which gripped the city.
