Here are some of the latest updates from the Israeli war on Gaza, now in its 640th day:
- Gaza's Health Ministry said on Monday that 105 people were killed and 356 wounded in the past 24 hours. The total Palestinian death toll since the war began has reached 57,523, with 136,617 injured.
- The Israeli army confirmed on Tuesday that five soldiers died and 14 were wounded during clashes with Palestinian resitance forces in northern Gaza. Earlier reports had stated five dead and 10 injured.
- Late on Monday, Palestinian fighters detonated an explosive device targeting an Israeli armoured vehicle. They later fired an anti-tank missile at a military robot carrying ammunition.
- A proposal by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, reviewed by Reuters, suggested constructing "Humanitarian Transit Areas" inside or outside Gaza. The plan aims to "replace Hamas' control over the population in Gaza".
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Donald Trump on Monday that he had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Netanyahu handed Trump a nomination letter during their White House meeting.

As many as five Israeli forces have been killed and 14 others wounded, two of them seriously, during a resistance operation targeting an Israeli infantry unit in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military reported the development on Tuesday, saying it had targeted infantry forces from the military's Netzah Yehuda Battalion in the city of Beit Hanoun a day earlier.
"The infantry soldiers were hit by a bomb planted on the side of a road shortly after 10 p.m. (1900GMT) on Monday, during [the military's] ground operations in Beit Hanoun," it said.

Israel's military has announced plans to forcibly draft 54,000 ultra-Orthodox seminary students this month following a Supreme Court order nullifying their exemptions, the IDF reported in a Telegram post on Sunday.

The IDF said it will also strengthen enforcement against draft evaders and deserters across all sectors. According to local reports, authorities plan to take swifter action against those who fail to report for duty, including authorizing border police to set up checkpoints and carry out arrests.

Just a day earlier, the Houthis attacked the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned bulk carrier Magic Seas with drones, missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, and small arms fire, forcing its crew of 22 to abandon the vessel. The rebels later said the ship sank in the Red Sea.
"By the grace and power of God, the ship Magic Seas completely sank in the depths of the sea after our armed forces targeted it in response to the owning company's repeated violations of the ban on entry into occupied Palestinian ports," Houthi spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said in a statement claiming responsibility for the attack.
"The latest of these violations was the entry of three of its ships into occupied Palestinian ports last week, despite warnings and appeals from our naval forces," he added.
