Hebrew Media: Second Israeli soldier commits suicide after returning from Gaza in five days - SabaNet

Hebrew media outlets reported on Wednesday that an Israeli soldier from the settlement of Rehovot, built on the occupied Palestinian city of Ramla, died by suicide last night-marking the second such case within five days.

According to the Hebrew news site Hadshot HaBezakh, the soldier, identified as Liel Shoham, had served in Gaza and was reportedly suffering from post-war trauma.

This incident follows another suicide on July 5, when a different Israeli soldier set himself on fire in his vehicle, also reportedly due to severe post-traumatic stress after serving in both Gaza and Lebanon.

A June study by Tel Aviv University revealed that 1 in every 8 Israeli soldiers who fought in Gaza is mentally unfit to return to service. The study found that 12% of soldiers reported acute symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), highlighting a serious psychological toll that renders many effectively unfit for duty.

Netanyahu STUNNED by Hamas AMBUSH on IDF, Rejection of Israel's Demands

Netanyahu looked stunned in a photo of the moment he was told of the latest ambush by Hamas, which left several IDF troops dead in Beit Hanoun. Reports say Hamas reconstructed a tunnel in north Gaza, near the boundary with Israel, and were able to plant roadside explosive devices, catching the Israeli soldiers off guard.

Palestinian-Syrian Journalist Laith Marouf noted that while Israel and U.S. are moving forward with their plans to "exterminate the Palestinians," this ambush from Hamas is a reminder that for all of the genocide Israel has committed, it still hasn't been able to stop attacks from the Resistance.

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Fatah movement in Gaza, released footage Wednesday showing their joint operation with the Al-Quds Brigades-the armed wing of Islamic Jihad-targeting Israeli soldiers and military vehicles in southern Gaza.

The video documents the coordination between the two groups in preparing the operation, monitoring the enemy's movements, and selecting the optimal moment to strike. The footage shows Israeli forces and vehicles advancing near Khuza'a in the northern Khan Younis area, before being shelled with standard 60mm mortar rounds.

This joint operation is part of the ongoing response by Palestinian resistance factions to what they describe as a campaign of genocide waged by the Israeli military-with U.S. support-against civilians in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

Israel steps up nighttime bombardment of Gaza | Middle East Eye

Israeli air strikes on Nuseirat in central Gaza and on al-Mawasi in the south late on Wednesday evening, local time, have caused several injuries, local reports said on Wednesday.

With Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu still in Washington on a nearly week-long visit, and with ceasefire talks possibly arriving at a breakthrough, Israel has stepped up its nighttime bombings, leaving almost 100 Palestinians dead every day in the strip.

Punished for the truth: US sanctions UN official for exposing Israeli atrocities, Washington's complicity

The United States has decided to impose sanctions on a noted and outspoken UN rights official over her outright criticism and exposure of the Israeli regime's acts of deadly aggression and Washington's unstinting support for the atrocities.

In a social media post on Wednesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he had decided to impose punitive measures against Francesa Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories.

Rubio accused Albanese of having tried to prompt the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue arrest warrants against Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the regime's former minister for military affairs Yoav Gallant.

The tribunal issued the warrants last November over the duo's war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, where the regime has been waging a strongly-US-supported war of genocide since October 2023.

In Video: Houthi Marines Raid Israel-Linked Ship, Blow It Up | South Front

The Houthis (Ansar Allah) have released video footage documenting the July 6 attack on the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned bulk carrier Magic Seas in the Red Sea off the shores of Yemen's Hodeidah.

The footage began with multiple warnings which the Houthis sent to the ship before carrying out the attack. After the captain ignored the warnings, the group attacked the ship with two suicide drone boats. The blasts forced the crew to abandon the ship.

However, this was not the end of the attack. Later on, a group of Houthi marines raided the abandoned ship, planted explosives and blew it up. By the next day, it was reported that the ship sank.

Houthi spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said in a statement that the attack on Magic Seas was "in response to the owning company's repeated violations of the ban on entry into occupied Palestinian ports."

"The latest of these violations was the entry of three of its ships into occupied Palestinian ports last week, despite warnings and appeals from our naval forces," he added.

On July 7, another ship, the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned bulk carrier ship Eternity C, came under attack, also off the shores of Hodeidah. Four of the ship's crew were killed ,while the rest managed to evacuate. The ship later sank. The Houthis are yet to claim responsibility for this attack.

The Houthis have carried out more than 100 attacks targeting shipping from November 2023. According to the group, the campaign is a response to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. The attacks sank three ships, killing at least eight sailors. Another ship was seized by the group.

Yemen sinks another Israel-bound ship violating ban in Red Sea

In a statement on Wednesday, the Yemeni armed forces announced that its navy "targeted the ship 'ETERNITY C', which was heading to the port of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) in Occupied Palestine", after its crew ignored warnings and calls issued by the naval forces.

According to the statement, the military operation was carried out with "an unmanned surface vehicle and six cruise and ballistic missiles."

Noting that the vessel "completely sank", the statement said the operation was "documented with audio and video."

The crew was, however, "rescued" and "transported to a safe place" by the Yemeni forces, the statement said.

'Illusion of victory': Israeli journo exposes Tel Aviv censorship in 12-day war

"Censorship is not imposed for security reasons, but to protect the illusion of victory. The goal is not to prevent information from reaching Iranians, because they know exactly where they have targeted; rather, the goal is to prevent Israelis from knowing the extent of the damage we have suffered," Drucker said.

Israel counts high cost of Iran war as censorship masks full damage | Middle East Eye

Data published in Maariv indicated that more than 1,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed, primarily in central cities such as Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv, Ness Ziona, and Bat Yam.

Additional destruction was reported in Beersheba and Haifa, the largest cities in southern and northern Israel, respectively.

The Israel Tax Authority said over 46,000 compensation claims have been filed for damage to homes, vehicles, property, and equipment.

Yet not all the destruction Israel suffered during the conflict was reported.

The Israeli military censor is preventing the publication of Iranian missile impact on military infrastructure.

The Telegraph reported this week that "Iranian missiles appear to have directly hit five Israeli military facilities," in the north, south and centre of Israel.

[...]

A source in a government ministry told The Times of Israel that he estimates the war's military costs amount to more than 20 billion shekels ($5.6bn).

The figure reportedly includes the cost of ammunition, aircraft fuel, the operation of Israel's defence systems, and the large-scale mobilisation of reservists for strikes across Iran.

In addition, The Telegraph reported that the United States launched around 36 THAAD missiles to support Israel's air defence. Each missile is estimated to cost $12 million.

IRGC foils major terror plot in SE Iran, six terrorists killed in Chabahar operation - Tehran Times

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the IRGC Ground Force's Quds Base confirmed that six members of a terrorist group were killed in a swift counterterrorism raid in the coastal city of Chabahar. The operation coincided with the ongoing Martyrs of Security military exercises being conducted across the region.

According to the statement, the militants' hideouts were discovered with the help of vigilant local residents. A cache of light and heavy weaponry, along with a large quantity of explosives, was seized during the operation.

The IRGC noted that the neutralized terrorists had been planning a series of coordinated attacks targeting crowded public areas. Their elimination is believed to have averted a potential wave of deadly violence.

Sistan and Baluchestan-long a target of terrorist activity-has seen frequent attacks against both civilians and Iranian security forces in recent years. Armed groups operating in the region, particularly along the Pakistan border, are often linked to foreign intelligence networks, according to Iranian officials.

Israel denied harming Iranians-700 dead civilians tell a different story - Tehran Times

TEHRAN - Iranian Health Minister Mohammadreza Zafarghandi announced on Wednesday that the Israeli regime's 12-day military aggression against Iranian cities resulted in the martyrdom of nearly 700 civilians and injuries to more than 5,000 citizens, overwhelmingly non-combatants.

The figures starkly contradict Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claims that the regime "does not want to kill Iranian people" and that its conflict is solely with Iran's government.

China Denies Shipping Air Defenses To IranSouth Front

China's embassy in Israel on July 9 rejected a report claiming that it had transferred missile production equipment or air defense systems to Iran.

Iran's air defense network was badly hit during the 12-day war with Israel last month. Commandos of the Mossad spy agency did most of the damage, attacking air defense systems from within Iranian territories with small drones and missiles.

Despite multiple large drones, the Israeli Air Force was able to gain aerial superiority over the western and central parts of the Islamic Republic, including the capital of Tehran.

12bytes: I'm beginning to become a little skeptical of South Front's reporting. The claim that China hasn't delivered air defense systems to Iran is flatly contradicted by numerous reports, including an article by Defence Security Asia. Regarding Tehran, i'm not aware of any reports of Israeli jets being spotted over the city during the 12 days of war and the relevant report from Deep Dive Defense contradicts the South Front report. Another potential confirmation that Israel did not establish air superiority deep within Iran is that some of Israel's jets turned back without having deployed their munitions, dropping them instead on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza.

Report: US pouring $1.5 billion into building air bases, ammunition warehouses in Israel

The United States is undertaking a significant military construction program in Israel, involving projects worth over $1.5 billion, all financed through American aid provided to Tel Aviv, new documents reveal.

The extensive initiative encompasses the building of airbase runways, helicopter hangars, ammunition storage facilities, and command centers, in addition to establishing a headquarters for the Israeli military's Shayetet 13 naval commando unit, according to newly released documents from the US Army Corps of Engineers, as reported by Haaretz.

The project is being funded through military assistance as part of the $3.8 billion annual aid package established in 2016 during Barack Obama's presidency.

Israeli Massacres at GHF Sites in Gaza Are Deliberate Policy to Increase Starvation -

The near-daily killings at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) food distribution points - where over 550 civilians have been killed and over 4,000 maimed in a month while trying to access food - are not unfortunate byproducts of war.

Nor are they rogue acts by reckless soldiers and extremist commanders, or the consequences of loose rules of engagement.

Rather, they are a calculated tactic as part of a broader Israeli policy to weaponise humanitarian aid and starvation, impose forced displacement, and advance what many legal experts call a genocidal campaign.

A recent exposé by Haaretz confirmed what Palestinians and international observers have long raised an alarm about: Israeli soldiers have been given explicit orders to fire on unarmed civilians congregating at aid sites in southern Gaza.

These are not defensive actions; not a single one of those victims posed any threat, Israeli soldiers themselves say.

UNRWA: Ceasefire in Gaza Must Be Now - SabaNet

Khan Younis Camp people refuse occupier's orders to evacuate - SabaNet

Thousands of residents of the Khan Younis camp in the southern Gaza Strip have refused to evacuate their homes and camps despite the ongoing threats of the enemy army. This is amid tragic humanitarian conditions, most notably the lack of safe or accessible housing in the Mawasi area, which is now crowded with tens of thousands of displaced persons.

Camp residents told Palestine Online on Wednesday that "enemy forces dropped leaflets and sent messages via social media and phone calls, urging residents to evacuate the camp immediately and head to the Mawasi area, which they described as a 'safe zone.'" However, residents categorically rejected these instructions.

Camp residents confirmed that the Mawasi area, which has hosted tens of thousands of displaced people since the start of the Israeli aggression, is no longer able to accommodate any more, given the deteriorating health and environmental conditions there and the lack of basic necessities of life.

Haaretz has reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports a plan to confine Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to a so-called "humanitarian city" in Rafah, a plan critics have compared to a concentration camp.

Under the proposal, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians would be admitted into the camp after undergoing security screening. Once inside, they would be offered food and healthcare, but would not be permitted to leave.

"Give them Ben & Jerry's, for all I care," Netanyahu has said, a source told Haaretz.

According to the Israeli daily, Netanyahu does not rule out the possibility of Israel running the site in the short term.

Another senior political official said that a governing system in Gaza "will be responsible for life there" but that "maybe for the time being, it will be us".
