Trump made the announcement in a post on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, just one day after declaring initiation of the project.

May 5: Iran activates new Strait of Hormuz transit system as US blockade ends in failure

Iran tightened its control over the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, rolling out a formal mechanism for regulating all maritime traffic through the world's most sensitive oil chokepoint, just hours after the United States killed at least five civilians by attacking two unarmed cargo boats traveling from Oman to the Iranian coast.

Under the new system, which was first reported by Press TV, every vessel seeking passage will receive official transit instructions from Tehran, as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) warned that only Iran-designated routes will be deemed safe.

Did you know the US and Israel helped create Iran's nuclear project? Here's the story - RT World News

The nuclear question, he said, is "the reason why we're in this in the first place." He insisted that if Iran's "radical clerical regime" remained in power, it would eventually decide to pursue a nuclear weapon. Therefore, in his view, the issue has to be confronted immediately.

But there is something deeply ironic in this entire spectacle. Listening to Trump and Rubio, one might think Iran's nuclear program appeared out of nowhere - a dark project born entirely from anti-Western ideology and clerical ambition. This is far from the case.

Democrats want Trump to lift lid on Israeli nukes - RT World News

A group of 30 Democrats in the US House of Representatives have demanded that the administration of President Donald Trump disclose information about Israel's nuclear arsenal and relevant policies. The lack of transparency threatens the entire Middle East, the lawmakers have argued.

West Jerusalem has neither confirmed nor denied possessing nuclear weapons, nor has it publicly presented any doctrine outlining the potential use of such weapons or its possible "red lines." The US, which has been aware of the Israeli nuclear program at least since the early 1960s, has remained silent on the issue.

UAE comes under Iranian attacks for second consecutive day | US-Israel war on Iran News | Al Jazeera

The strikes come a day after the Gulf nation was attacked by 15 missiles amid a shaky US-Iran ceasefire.

U.S. And Israel Are Planning To Kill Iranian Leaders, Hit Energy Facilities

One day into the U.S. operation, dubbed "Project Freedom," Iranian restrictions on the strategic waterway - a choke point for around 20 percent of global oil and liquefied natural gas - remain very much in place.

The Israeli source who spoke to CNN revealed that the coordination with the U.S. includes preparation for a potential new round of strikes on Iran.

According to the source, the strikes would focus on energy infrastructure and the targeted killing of senior Iranian officials. Most of these plans were largely prepared and ready for execution on the eve of the ceasefire in early-April.

"The intention would be to carry out a short campaign aimed at pressuring Iran into further concessions in negotiations," the source told CNN.

Nevertheless, the source emphasized that any decision to resume hostilities ultimately rests with the U.S. President Donald Trump.

CNN noted that Trump has grown frustrated at the deadlock in negotiations and the inability to open the Strait of Hormuz, but he has also signaled that he does not want to resume a full-scale conflict with Iran.

Israeli occupation forces intercept "Freedom Flotilla" vessels off Greek coast - Yemen Press Agency

GREECE, May 05 (YPA) - The "Global Sumud Flotilla" announced on Tuesday that Israeli occupation forces have begun attempting to intercept Freedom Flotilla Coalition vessels off the coast of Greece, aiming to prevent them from continuing their mission to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip.

Observers suggest this escalation may trigger a diplomatic confrontation with European nations, amid rising tensions in strategic waterways and mounting international pressure to deliver humanitarian aid to the Strip.

All Indicators Signal that Trump Will Restart the War Against Iran This Week

Late Monday afternoon in Florida, I learned that there was a large movement of KC-135s over the Arabian Peninsula. This movement was consistent with air-refueling operations for US combat aircraft. I also learned that the US was "spinning up," which is military slang for going hot. I fully expected air strikes to commence inside Iran early Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, Iran hit the UAE's oil terminal at Fujairah in the Gulf of Oman - a facility that the Emiratis have used to partially circumvent Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. I believe this was Iran's way of voicing its displeasure with the UAE openly siding with Israel. Worth noting that Israel supplied the UAE with an Iron Dome system that utterly failed to stop the Iranian attack.

[...]

Barring Trump having a change of heart or an unexpected breakthrough on the diplomatic front, I believe that Trump will order a new and intense round of air strikes on key Iranian infrastructure. If that happens, Iran will waste [no] time in launching massive retaliatory strikes on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel and locations hosting US military forces and equipment.

Iran will enter this next round of fighting with the full backing of Russia and China.
