More THAAD's destroyed; U.S. to make a 'ton of money' from Iran war - IRAN WAR NEWS - 9-Mar-2026 (update 3)

UPDATE 3

Trump says war on Iran could be 'short-term excursion' | Middle East Eye

US President Donald Trump said the US-Israeli war on Iran could be a "short-term excursion".

Speaking at a Republican gathering in Doral, Florida, Trump said the US military was already "very far" ahead of the four-to-five-week timeframe initially estimated for the assault on Iran.

In an earlier interview with CBS, he said: "I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they've got no air force."

12bytes: Every word of Trump's response is a lie, obviously, but still it's an interesting response that suggests to me that he is aware that the U.S. cannot outlast Iran. His response could suggest that the U.S. is ready to pack it in and call it a day, but the problem is that Trump stated that the new supreme leader of Iran is unacceptable.

Iran launches wave 33 of True Promise 4 op. with Kheibar Shekan missiles

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has announced wave 33 of Operation True Promise 4, utilizing a large salvo of solid-fuel Kheibar Shekan ballistic missiles equipped with one-ton warheads.

According to the IRGC Public Relations statement, the latest wave successfully struck multiple high-value targets in the occupied territories, including the heart of Tel Aviv, which was hit by more than ten Kheibar Shekan missiles.

The IRGC emphasized that the operation continues to deliver precise and devastating blows.

"We had said that [the state of] sirens to sirens in the occupied territories would not stop."

In parallel, the IRGC said that the fifth naval base of the US terrorist forces in the region was also targeted and struck during this phase using Kheibar Shekan missiles.

All missiles achieved direct hits on their designated objectives, demonstrating the accuracy and effectiveness of Iran's indigenous missile technology despite heavy enemy air defenses.

Human Rights Watch accuses Israel of using white phosphorus in Lebanon - Yemen Press Agency

NEW YORK, March. 10 (YPA) - Human Rights Watch, on Monday, accused the Israeli occupation of using white phosphorus incendiary weapons in attacks on the town of Yahmor in southern Lebanon, as part of the war with Hezbollah that erupted early last week.

In a report, the organization said that "the Israeli army unlawfully used white phosphorus" in an artillery attack on homes in the town of Yahmor on March 3, according to Agence France-Presse.

It should be noted that white phosphorus munitions, a substance that ignites upon contact with oxygen, are used to create a smokescreen and illuminate the battlefield, in addition to using them as a weapon capable of causing fatal burns, respiratory and organ failure, and sometimes death in humans.

Trump's Strait of Hormuz rhetoric aims to control oil prices; Iran has 'major surprises': Source

US President Donald Trump's threats to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and launch more severe attacks on Iran aim to control the market and soaring oil prices after the weekend closure in the United States, according to a knowledgeable military source.

Speaking to a Press TV correspondent, the source referred to the US president's rhetoric over the past two days, stressing that Tehran plans to "surprise him" by not only stepping up its defensive measures but also carrying out several major surprises after the weekend.

Iran's offensive operations, the source noted, have expanded with the destruction of enemy radars, adding that "harder days await" the United States.

Sanchez Effect | War against Iran 'is an illegal war of aggression' - Scott Ritter

12bytes: Ritter gives a fantastic interview here.

In the latest episode of 'Sanchez Effect,' we dive into the chaos of a war that Washington promised would be quick and painless. Reality tells a different story - Ritter argues that America has already dropped the ball. Instead of toppling Khamenei, they've inadvertently made him a martyr; now, people rally around his legacy, vowing to avenge his demise. Trump's strategy? It changes with the wind - he doesn't have one. And he's not alone; his close ally, Pete Hegseth, is equally lost as America flounders in its military objectives.

Ritter foresees a grim future: the US will exhaust its defence options long before Iran runs out of ways to strike back. Rick questions why interceptors aren't taking down missiles - why are Iranian rockets slipping through? Aren't those fancy US missiles supposed to work? Ritter points out Iranians are outsmarting Washington, rendering radars blind and deaf while launching a frenzy of outdated missiles to overload defences before unleashing their more advanced weaponry.

And let's not forget Turkiye - it's not innocent in this mess either, and Ritter reveals its agenda. Meanwhile, RT correspondent Yasin Eken joins us from Turkiye and weighs in on whether Ankara might throw its hat into the ring.

Death & destruction | Bloody history of US strikes on civilians in Middle East

The number of deaths from the bombing of a primary school in southern Iran on the first day of the war has now risen to at least 175 people, the majority of them children.

It is the deadliest attack seen so far in the relentless joint US-Israeli assault.

Despite Donald Trump denying American military involvement, mounting evidence suggests otherwise.

RT's Isabella Blumberg recaps what is known about the deadly act, which appears to follow a pattern in Washington's Middle East adventurism.

Iranian military source: Destruction of drones, radars disrupts US, Israeli operations - Yemen Press Agency

TEHRAN, March 10 (YPA) - An informed Iranian military source revealed a radical shift in the balance of confrontation with the United States and "Israel," confirming that the downing of over 82 drones and 4 F-15 fighter jets, along with the destruction of advanced radars, has paralyzed enemy operations and forced a change in their offensive and defensive tactics.

In a statement to Tasnim News Agency, the source explained that this field disruption has driven the enemy to abandon precision strikes in favor of "intimidation tactics," using bunker-buster bombs against secondary civilian and military targets with little strategic value-a move attributed to ammunition shortages and declining operational capabilities.

The military source concluded by saying that the intimidation tactic will not achieve the desired results for the enemy, adding that the enemy will soon see the nightmare of the destruction of its infrastructure realized, and that the course of the battlefield is proceeding in a manner completely different from what it expected.

True Promise 4: Iran and resistance axis ops. against US-Israeli assets on Mar. 9

On Sunday, March 9, 2026, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army conducted multiple operations as part of Operation True Promise 4, which was launched immediately after the US-Israeli coalition carried out an unprovoked act of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iranian armed forces have so far carried out 30 waves of missile and drone strikes with advanced weaponry targeting Israeli military facilities in the occupied territories, as well as US occupation bases and assets scattered across the West Asia region.

Infrastructure War Has Begun In Middle EastSouth Front

Amid this escalation, the price of oil spiked well over $110 per barrel. Taking into consideration that the Israeli-American war has already forced Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to cut production, the price of oil will not likely return to pre-war levels any time soon.

The U.S. was reportedly angered with the Israeli strikes on Iranian oil depots, which started the escalation. One report by Axios revealed that American officials are concerned that strikes on infrastructure that serves ordinary Iranians could backfire strategically, rallying Iranian society to support the government and driving up oil prices even higher.

Israel could attack infrastructure again, despite the agreement with the U.S., as it is clearly working to escalate and widen the war as much as possible. Iran is guaranteed to respond, and has already warned that its retaliation will not be limited to Israel, but will also include U.S. energy assets in the entire Middle East.

Al Dhafra, located close to the Emirate capital of Abu Dhabi, was targeted more than once by Iran since the start of the war more than a week ago. Satellite images confirmed that the air base took some serious damage, with several hangars wiped out.

The Apache is operated by two, a pilot and a gunner. Based on this the helicopter that crashed killed two was most likely an AH-64D.

While the helicopter was possibly hit while taking off or landing at Al Dhafra, it is more likely that it was struck by an Iranian drone while attempting to intercept it.

Iran Conflict Exposes Limits of US Arms Supply for Europe and Its Allies - 09.03.2026, Sputnik International

Reports earlier said that US allies in Europe and Asia fear that the Iran war will leave them without US weapons they bought.

Washington's allies are especially concerned about shortages of "critical weapons," including air and missile defense systems and drones, Russian military expert Alexander Stepanov tells Sputnik.

Stepanov says the US has an image problem "which is becoming noticeable to users and potential buyers of American military products."

Surface-to-air missiles like the Patriot were "previously considered extremely effective" but "failed to demonstrate their reliability during the Ukraine conflict," he noted.

"Most of the important facilities they were supposed to protect haven't withstood," Stepanov pointed out. "When a battery costs a billion dollars and fails to fulfil its tasks, this raises doubts."

The catastrophic Hormuz disruption - by Alex Krainer

President Trump's war of choice against Iran has focused the world's attention on the strategic importance of the region, like nobody's ever seen before.

Even casual consumers of the news flow knew that a large chunk of the global oil supply passes through the Strait of Hormuz and that any disruption to maritime traffic there would send the oil price soaring well into triple digits.

They weren't wrong: in December, Brent crude oil price dropped below $60/bbl. This morning, it's trading at $107 - a 95% increase in three months' time! But this oil shock is only the most direct and obvious disruption from this war.

The Strait Is Closed: How Trump's Strike on Iran Triggered a Global Energy Crisis

Monumental Blunder

Instead of restoring order, the strike achieved the opposite: it triggered a cascading collapse of the world's most critical energy artery-the Strait of Hormuz-and exposed the fragility of Western assumptions about oil, power, and deterrence.

Within 48 hours, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) retaliated not just with missile barrages on U.S. bases in Iraq and Israel, but with a far more consequential move: it sealed the Strait of Hormuz. Using drones, fast-attack boats, and coastal missile batteries, Iranian forces disabled or turned back nearly all commercial traffic attempting to transit the narrow waterway. Satellite data confirmed only two tankers passed through on Monday-a fraction of the usual 20 million barrels per day that normally flow through this 21-mile-wide chokepoint.

US will 'make a ton of money' from Iran war - senator - RT World News

The US will control almost a third of the world's oil and make record profits if it succeeds in toppling the Iranian government, hawkish Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Fox News on Sunday.

Graham made the comments as global oil prices surged past $100 per barrel, which US President Donald Trump dismissed as "a very small price to pay" for the US-Israeli war against Iran, which was launched on February 28.

Graham described the cost of the attacks as the "best money ever spent," arguing that the purpose is to prevent the country from developing nuclear weapons - which Iran has denied that it intends to do, insisting that its nuclear program is peaceful.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - US President Donald Trump said that the decision to end the operation against Iran would be made jointly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"I think it's mutual... a little bit. We've been talking. Trump, look them in the eyes - Tehran Times

TEHRAN - U.S. President Donald Trump's pronouncements on the ongoing military invasion of Iran have been marred by a pattern of demonstrably false claims, deflection of responsibility for atrocities, and a defiant rejection of diplomatic solutions.

Speaking from Air Force One on the eighth day of the invasion, Trump repeatedly asserted unsubstantiated narratives while actively dodging questions about the devastating attack on a girls' school in Minab, southern Iran.

The core of Trump's controversial remarks revolved around his assertion that Iran itself was responsible for the horrific school massacre in Minab. This claim, repeatedly reiterated despite a rapidly accumulating body of evidence pointing to a U.S.-led bombing, is a glaring example of deliberate falsehood.

The attack claimed the lives of approximately 170 elementary school girls, a tragedy that has rightly drawn international condemnation.

US, Israeli targets struck in mass IRGC missile, drone strikes

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has launched a fresh round of massive missile and drone strikes against US military installations and Israeli targets in the occupied territories in retaliation for the ongoing US-Israeli aggression against the country.

The Public Relations Department of the IRGC announced in a statement that the 30th wave of Operation True Promise 4 was carried out on the eve of the 19th day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, and concurrent with the election of the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

According to the statement, the mass attacks, conducted with the code phrase "Ali Valiollah", struck US bases in the region as well as the Israeli regime's positions north of the occupied lands.

Iran destroys four advanced US THAAD radars, downs Israeli drone

12bytes: If these reports are accurate, that may be 8 THAAD systems that have been destroyed, however it could also be that that certain THAAD systems were hit more than once, so i'm not sure. The U.S. only has 8 or 9 THAAD systems as far as i know.

The Iranian armed forces have destroyed four advanced American radar systems during reprisal attacks targeting the United States' anti-missile defense infrastructure in the region.

In a statement on Sunday, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Zolfaghari said the highly advanced Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) radar units equipped with long-range detection capabilities were struck and destroyed within the past 24 hours.

He said the radars were based in al-Rubah, al-Ruwais, al-Kharj, and Azraq.

The spokesperson added that the radar systems were providing real-time intelligence to the missile defense network jointly operated by the United States and Israel.

"As a result of the severe damage inflicted on the enemy's early warning network, air-raid sirens in the occupied territories now sound only at the moment missiles strike," the statement said.

Iran says it did not launch attacks towards Turkey or Azerbaijan | Middle East Eye

Speaking at a news briefing in Tehran, spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Iran remained "adamant to maintain good and friendly relations" with countries across the region.

However, he warned that Iran would act if foreign territory was used to launch attacks against it.

Baghaei also rejected reports that Iranian weapons had been launched towards Turkey, Cyprus or Azerbaijan in recent days.

"No offensives were initiated from Iranian territory" towards those countries, he said.

The spokesperson suggested that some incidents could have been orchestrated by Iran's adversaries in an effort to damage relations with neighbouring states.

"We have warned repeatedly that the enemy may stage certain attacks to drive a wedge between us and other countries," he said.

And the U.S. has an "inalienable right" to stop you, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff answered with hubris.

Araghchi is right, and Witkoff is wrong. The U.S. and its partners have presented the public with a war that was caused by Iran's refusal to compromise on its civilian nuclear program; however, as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran has "the inalienable right to a civilian program that uses nuclear energy for peaceful purposes."

The fact that Iran was enriching uranium for peaceful purposes has been verified by the multiple consecutive International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reports that followed the JCPOA nuclear agreement with Iran and by the 2022 U.S. Department of Defense Nuclear Posture Review and, most recently, by the 2025 U.S. Annual Threat Assessment.

Despite their "inalienable right," Iran made the major concession of negotiating significant limitations on its nuclear program that could have met U.S. redlines. Instead, the negotiations were interrupted by bombs falling on Iran in an attack that was neither necessitated by the immediate need to defend against an attack nor sanctioned by the Security Council.

US, Israel have launched environmental war on Iran - Tehran Times

Regrettably, the aggressors have set an oil refinery ablaze in southern Tehran to the extent that its thick clouds of smoke are seen all over the sky in Tehran and nearby cities. This environmental war on Iran started on Saturday night.

Oil storage sites in three parts of Tehran have been put on fire: in the south, northeast, and northwest.

The aggressors are not just in fight against Iran but also against its environment to the detriment of the health of its citizens.

Netanyahu, who dropped about 200,000 tons of explosives on the tiny Gaza enclave in two years and caused a huge environmental catastrophe along with crimes against humanity, this time in cooperation with his mindless friend, Donald Trump, have started a similar campaign against Iran.

Israel used white phosphorus in Lebanon: Report | Middle East Eye

Human Rights Watch said on Monday that the Israeli military fired white phosphorus munitions over residential areas in southern Lebanon earlier this month, which is illegal under international law.

According to the rights group, the incident occurred on 3 March in the town of Yohmor. Investigators said they verified and geolocated seven images showing airburst white phosphorus munitions detonating above a populated neighbourhood.

The images also showed civil defence crews responding to fires in at least two homes and a car in the affected area.

"The Israeli military's unlawful use of white phosphorus over residential areas is extremely alarming and will have dire consequences for civilians," said Ramzi Kaiss, Lebanon researcher at Human Rights Watch. "The incendiary effects of white phosphorous can cause death or cruel injuries that result in lifelong suffering."

Shame Of A Nation: 338,000 Reasons Behind America's Silence After The Epstein FilesSouth Front

In early 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice published millions of pages of archives related to financier Jeffrey Epstein's case, confirming long-standing ties between the American political elite and the convicted criminal. Several months later, Congressman Tim Tebow presented new FBI data that shocked the public even more: approximately 338,000 unique IP addresses were recorded each month in the country downloading child pornography. This statistic suggests that nearly one out of every thousand U.S. residents could be involved in such illegal activity, raising questions about the depth and scale of a systemic crisis.

At the start of 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice began publishing millions of pages of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case in order to implement a law passed by Congress. The documents confirmed longstanding conspiracy theories that representatives of the global elite regularly visited Epstein's private island. The documents revealed the names of not only foreign princes and business magnates, but also prominent American politicians from both parties.

The international community's reaction to the release of the documents was restrained yet telling. Although official representatives of the UN and the European Union issued general statements calling for a "thorough investigation" and the "protection of children's rights," no concrete steps or sanctions were taken against those named in the island's guest lists.
