FBI come knocking 'cause you posted a mean tweet?
First and foremost, it is extremely maddening that this shit is happening in the United States.
Video: This Is How To Handle The FBI When They Visit Your Home
Following is my personal, layman analysis of how Jeremy handled the situation (by the way, Jeremy Kauffman is apparently the founder of Odysee and involved in New Hampshire's Free State Project as well).
- Did these "agents" obtain permission from the local Sheriff before visiting Jeremy?
- Jeremy probably could have, and maybe should have avoided the confrontation by staying inside and ignoring these communist morons, however he apparently knew why they wanted to talk to him and i can't blame him for confronting these idiots.
- He recorded the encounter and posted it on the web as he absolutely should have and, in doing so, may have protected himself.
- I would assume that, like the police, these FBI jackasses are required by law to provide identification upon request, which they refused to do.
- Jeremy refused to answer any questions other than stating his first name and he probably shouldn't have provided even that, regardless of whether these dingbats may have already known who he was.
- The name calling was unnecessary, but again, i can't blame him at all.
I think Jeremy handled the situation reasonably well in my opinion. This is also similar to how the police should be handled, minus the aggressiveness. In short, it is often best to never talk to the police.
